A new and mortal trick has made its way to The Finals meta, and though many are already aware of them, this fake jump pad trap has already taken a lot of lives among unaware players.

The Finals meta continues to shift as players discover new and unusual ways to slay each other in the virtual arena. And though the game offers an incredible array of weapons, artifacts, and abilities to combine, some skilled players have figured out a way to wipe an entire team with a simple Jump Pad.

The Assault Platform is one of the Gadgets that the Medium Build has at their disposal and a good way to counter the destructiveness of the Heavy Build and the mobility of the Light Build.

But for some players, the Assault Platform has become a way to set up a trap that can kill an entire team.

This was posted by Reddit user ‘UncleEpstein’ on The Finals subreddit, describing what this new deadly trick is about: “New jump pad trick nearly killed my whole team then killed an entire team after us.”

As you can see in the video, the Assault Platform is set before the Jump Pad, then producing a fake jump spot, that will be triggered before the forward jump boost provided by the Jump Pad, and yeet players who step on it into oblivion.

This trick is definitely a cool and unusual way of murder in The Finals virtual arena, and soon to become one of the favorites of tournaments. However, the game already has some broken and unbalanced mechanics that might be targeted by the devs in future patches.

But what about the players’ opinion on this Jump Pad trick? Many The Finals enthusiasts are already calling it one of the best plays so far, saying things like, “It’s brilliant,” and, “I just did as well, 100% success rate so far haha!”

And about the usefulness of this tactic, Reddit user ‘Archer_TTV’ expressed: “The match is about the win, this can buy you a few seconds on site so who cares for the extra kills on a virtual scoreboard.”

So there you have it, this Jump Pad trick could be a good way to pump up your competitive play with some smart maneuvers. And in case you are wondering about mobility, here’s how to bunny hop in The Finals. We also have a good way to counter those annoying Invisible Builds.
