Starfield players can’t stand Constellation companions: “I hate everyone”

Constellation companions in Starfield

Starfield’s primary faction, Constellation, is presented as a mysterious group filled with explorers daring to go beyond the horizon. But as exciting as that description sounds, players are struggling to vibe with members of the group, with some even finding them unbearable.

Space can be desolate and lonely, but thankfully, Starfield isn’t. The sci-fi RPG provides many options to spice up space exploration. This includes customizable ships, explorable space stations, and a set of companions you can assign as crew on your ship. These companions pick up different roles and can even assist in combat. The game has no shortage of recruitable NPCs, but the four primary companions happen to be members of Constellation.

At first, all four companions seem distinct from one another, each having their own redeeming qualities. The four companions are also the only romance options in the game, meaning that their likeability matters a lot.

Sadly, Starfield seems to have failed on that front for many players, as users online are clearly not fans of Constellation’s companions. Reddit user ‘Travolen’ even slotted them into four archetypes, and a majority of players were in agreement.

Sarah Morgan was dubbed a “HR person,” who is constantly aboard her high horse. She is also accused of ruining the fun and lecturing everyone. The other female romance option, Andreja, was titled “an obedient puppy” who seems bold at first but quivers when someone with authority shows up.

As for the male romance options, Sam Coe was criticized for always disappearing and never doing “any work.” While Barrett was categorized as an old man who’s too bland and has given up.

The descriptions, as harsh as they sound, resonated with many players and some even shared their own distaste for the characters. One user stated, “I disliked Sarah so I made an outpost on a desolate moon called ‘Sarah’s Penance’ and stranded her on it.”

Needless to say, the Constellation companions are not to everyone’s liking. For more Starfield, check out all the Space Habs in the game and the best planets for resources.
