Starfield: How to hide helmet & spacesuit

Wondering how you can hide your Starfield helmet and spacesuit to see your character properly? Here’s everything you need to know.
Starfield has a lot of customization and an incredibly detailed character creation that players can spend hours on. Not only is there the choice of background and skills which can take some time to select, but there’s also a massive amount of choice when it comes to appearance.
Those who spend hours creating the perfect character will no doubt want to see it in-game, especially if they prefer playing in the third-person. Unfortunately, your helmet and spacesuit can interfere with your character’s appearance, but luckily there is a way to hide your gear.
With that said, here’s how to hide your helmet and spacesuit in Starfield.
How to hide your helmet & spacesuit in Starfield
Follow these simple steps to remove your helmet and spacesuit in Starfield:
- Press the menu button.
- Select the Inventory tab.
- Find your helmet/spacesuit.
- Select it and press the button prompt at the bottom of the screen that says “Hide helmet in breathable areas,” or “hide spacesuit in settlements” depending on the gear you want to hide.
BethesdaIt’s important to note that you can’t completely hide your helmet and spacesuit, as the helmet will only stay hidden in breathable areas while your spacesuit will only be hidden in settlements.
This is to retain some realism for the game, as it would be slightly odd if your character didn’t need to wear a helmet or spacesuit when out in deep space or areas without oxygen.
