Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players disappointed by “lazy” Future Paradox shinies
The Pokemon CompanyThe shinies of the Future Paradox Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet are being slammed by players for their “boring” monochrome designs, even though their colors appear to make sense.
With the announcement of Legends ZA, the next game in the franchise, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are spending time battling Tera Raids and collecting their favorite shiny Pokemon in Paldea, Kitakami, and Blueberry Academy.
Even though the Indigo Disk DLC brought back several beloved Legendaries, many of them are shiny-locked, so fans are grinding the game for the shiny versions of the popular Paradox Pokemon.
But, while the Ancient Paradox shinies have distinct colors and are a huge hit among the community, it’s an entirely different story for the Future versions, as all their shinies have a common monochrome theme.
A Reddit user named ‘MoneyLocal8180’ posted the ‘Change my mind’ meme and explained that the shiny Future Paradox Pokemon haven’t been painted yet, making them rare and prized assets compared to the finished pieces.
Several fans lauded the head cannon and agreed with the OP, but that didn’t stop them from taking a jibe at how bad they feel the shinies look.
Users stated that the Future Paradox Pokemon are just “lazy” designs and even though the OP’s speculation makes sense, they think the devs could have done much better.
“I just think it’s strange to introduce so many shinies that have matching palettes at once. Not a fan of all chrome everything. Even if it makes sense, other choices make sense as well. So many metal tones to choose from,” a trainer wrote.
Another added, “They fell through the time rip right before the paint job. Boring and lazy choice on the part of Game Freak lmao.”
Others felt that even with the metallic textures, these shinies should have had a “rusty” look like shiny Tinkaton, or a golden theme.
You should know that the Scarlet and Violet games gave Pokemon with ‘metallic’ parts a glow-up, so it would have been befitting for the Future Paradox shinies.
