Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players call for changes to make shiny hunting easier

Shiny hunts can be stressful, even for the most prepared trainers, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have called for a few QoL improvements Game Freak needs to address before releasing another game.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are enjoying both the Tera Raid Battle events and the Mass Outbreaks that the Gen 9 games regularly host. Most trainers say that catching shiny Pokemon has never been easier since the new Shiny Sandwich mechanics came out.

Powered up by Herba Mystica, players are getting several of the most sought-after shiny specimens, but not everyone is enjoying the hunts. Some players are complaining that shiny some shiny Pokemon are hard to distinguish, and that the animation effect that marks a species as one, needs to be reworked.

This was posted by Reddit user ‘edblsm’ who shared this on the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet subreddit, and the community quickly agreed with this request to Nintendo: “Please add a sparking effect on shinies.”

One of the users commenting on the OP’s post said: “Yeah, I’m colorblind and it is impossible for me. I can’t tell a difference here, but with the smaller shinies (even if they are super obvious) the smaller color sample doesn’t let my eyes see that either.”

While another player responded: “I’m not color blind and I still can’t tell a difference. Most shiny models are SUPER lazy and hardly change anything, then the ones that do change a major color make it look so much worse.”

Other players quickly rose to voice out their complaints and remarked the need to do some QoL improvements on the shiny spawn mechanics, so players can clearly distinguish those special Pokemon.

Players have complained about some of the features in the game that make losing a prized shiny target a recurrent issue. And ever since the game launched, thousands of players have been affected by terrain bugs, and fun-ruining glitches all around the world.
