7-Star Tera Raid Battles can be a tough challenge for most Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players. We’ll cover everything you need to know about the Pikachu Tera Raid event, including dates and the best counters.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Pikachu Tera Raid Battle dates

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can tackle the Pikachu Tera Raid Battle from February 24 to February 27 at 14:59 GMT / 6:59 AM PT / 9:59 AM ET.

The particular timing of this Tera Raid Battle suggests there might be another event following the Pokemon Presents stream.

Pikachu comes with the Mightiest Mark, meaning players can only catch one per save file. Unrivaled Pikachu has the Water Tera Type.

Since the Tera Raid Battle event is active, trainers must look for Black Tera Crystals across Paldea to partake in the event.

How to beat Pikachu Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

The ongoing Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Battle event features Pikachu with a Water Tera Type. While using Electric-type moves seems like the best choice since they’re super effective, you must know that Pikachu has the Lightning Rod hidden ability.

This ability makes Pikachu immune to Electric-type attacks, so you should avoid that approach. Unrivaled Pikachu also has Light Ball as its held item, so its Attack and Special Attack Stats are doubled during the Raid.

That leaves only one super-effective attack type: Grass-type. Appletun or Flapple are good choices here. Their dual Grass and Dragon typing make them great contenders to deal damage and resist any Water-type attacks Pikachu throws at them.

Pokemon Scarlet players are in luck as they can rely on Brute Bonnet, the Paradox Pokemon from the past. This Grass and Dark-type variation of Amoongus won’t be a match for Pikachu’s speed but can tank many attacks and retaliate with formidable power.

Meowscarada, Sprigatito’s final evolution, is also a dual Grass and Dark-type and can prove a powerful ally against Pikachu. Its signature move, Flower Trick, never misses and always lands a critical hit.

Now that the raid is live, Serebii confirmed Unrivaled Pikachu has Thunder, Surf, Play Rough, Iron Tail, and Rain Dance in its moveset. Your best strategy is picking Pokemon that can resist most of those attacks to make sure you’re up to the challenge.

Whether you go with our recommendations or you choose any other Pokemon, make sure it’s level 90 or higher, with the right moveset and held item to take Pikachu down.

Terastallizing is also extremely important as it will allow you to deal maximum damage to Tera Raid Shields.
