Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can now take on the iconic Pikachu in 7-Star Tera Raids. Having the Water Tera Type, beating these battles can be daunting so you must be ready with a team of solid counters.

So here’s everything you need to know about the Pikachu Tera Raid event, including dates and the best Pokemon to use as counters.

Best Pikachu 7-Star Tera Raid counters in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Hydrapple

Hydrapple is one of the latest Pokemon added to the franchise.

The Grass/Dragon-type Hydrapple heavily resists Water-type attacks and boasts an incredible 120 Special Attack, making it a top counter to Pikachu Raids.

For starters, it can use Nasty Plot to boost its already impressive Special Attack by two stages. This not only makes it deadly but also bypasses the 2x drop in its offenses caused by the powerful Leaf Storm.

Additionally, Giga Drain deals damage while also recovering half of the health lost, in case Hydrapple has been hit by a move. Grassy Terrain is a great addition to increase the power of its Grass-type attacks by 30%.

Remember that Hydrapple can obtained by evolving Dipplin in the Indigo Disk DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Brute Bonnet

Brute Bonnet is a bulky Grass/Dark-type Pokemon.

While Hydrapple is an offensive powerhouse, Paradox Pokemon Brute Bonnet is a tank with an amazing 127 Attack stat to boot. Clear Smog is a great move to clear all ATK and SpA boosts Pikachu can get if it holds the Held Item Light Ball.

While it takes hits, it can also go for Giga Drain to keep itself healthy throughout the battle. Coming to offenses, it can use Growth to raise its offenses and inflict great damage with Physical moves like Trailblaze. This is a very balanced counter that can take on Pikachu’s strongest moves and hit back hard.

Pikachu Tera Raid moveset

  • Thunder (Electric)
  • Surf (Water)
  • Rain Dance (Water)
  • Iron Tail (Steel)
  • Play Rough (Fairy)

Remember that Pikachu can have any four of the above moves in its Tera Raid battle.

Since it has the Water Tera Type, it is only weak to Electric and Grass-type attacks.

Among the two counter types, Grass Pokemon are a better pick as they resist both Electric and Water-type moves that Raid Boss will get STAB (Same Typ Attack Bonus) damage on.

Moreover, Pikachu has the Lightning Rod hidden ability, making it immune to Electric-type attacks, so avoid using them altogether.

Start date & time
