Pokemon Go Rising Shadows event dates

The Pokemon Go Rising Shadows event will run from Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10 AM to Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

The Rising Heroes season of Pokemon Go will end on June 1, so players expect more announcements in the coming days.

Pokemon Go Rising Shadows event introduces Shadow Raids

The Rising Shadows event is bringing Shadow Raids for the first time in Pokemon Go, and players will be able to face Shadow Mewtwo in 5-Star Raids. What’s more, for the first time in the mobile game, lucky players will be able to encounter shiny Shadow Mewtwo after defeating it in a Raid.

Aside from the Shadow Pokemon that headlines, Shadow Raids won’t be that different from regular Raids. However, trainers won’t be able to join Shadow Raids using Remote Raid Passes. Additionally, Shadow Raids won’t reward a team bonus for Premier Balls.

The official announcement also states: “3-Star and 5-Star Shadow Raid bosses will grow enraged as you battle them, boosting their attack and defense. Continue to hold your ground and weaken the Shadow Raid bosses to subdue them.”

Shadow Raids will also introduce a new item: Purified Gems. These Gems can be used during a Shadow Raid to lower the boss’ attack and defense, and its effects can be stacked if different players use them during a battle. Purified Gems will be obtainable by getting enough Shadow Shards from Team Go Rocket battles.
