Overwatch 2 is finally here, and despite bringing some new features to the game, the devs have also removed some beloved classic features that players want to see return.

Overwatch 2 has brought some significant changes to the hero shooter since its arrival on October 4. As well as introducing some new maps, modes, and characters in Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko, the game is now free-to-play.

While the gameplay is very similar to the original Overwatch apart from the new 5v5 format, players in Season 1 of Overwatch 2 have also noticed a lot of removed features from the original.

Although these features may not be vital to the gameplay experience, they are loved by the community, who now seemingly would like Blizzard to bring them back.

One of the features from the original Overwatch that has been removed in the sequel is the damage percentage numbers. Reddit user YetYaInBedLoverr brought this to the community’s attention, asking the devs if they can “get this back,” as they “really liked when [they] saw the % of damage [they] did.”

It seems they aren’t the only ones either, as one comment under the post reads “Idk why they even got rid of it,” while another says, “I feel like a lot of changes are pointless and to make new players feel better about themselves. They got rid of all the signs showing which players did good and which didn’t including the voting system.”

Although it’s not a vital feature for the game, players seem to really like the voting system, so much so that Reddit user RaidedGamers even made their own fan concept for an Overwatch 2 version of the feature.

Once again, many players in the comments share similar feelings towards the removed voting feature, with one comment reading: “I didn’t realize how much I loved this feature til it was gone.”

The community clearly would like this feature back, as it was a good way for players to evaluate the game and even thank players for doing a good job in-game: “Used to use this screen as an opportunity to thank my healers. Lame they removed this and LFG. It’s like they don’t want us making friends on OW2.”

We’ll have to wait and see how Blizzard react to these calls for classic features to return, as the game is only in its first season, so we expect a lot of updates to come in the future.
