Overwatch 2 Season 3 is celebrating Valentine’s Day by introducing the new ‘Loverwatch Dating Sim,’ starring fan-favorite characters Mercy and Genji. Here’s everything you need to know about how to play the Loverwatch Dating Sim.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 is here, bringing with it the biggest batch of new content in the game to date, including the new Antarctic Peninsula map, changes to Ranked mode, and even a One Punch Man crossover down the line.

The new season is also set to mark Valentine’s Day by making the most dedicated players’ dreams come true – with a specially-designed dating simulator called ‘Loverwatch.’

What is Loverwatch Dating Sim for Overwatch 2?

Like something plucked straight out of Overwatch fan fiction, the Loverwatch Dating Sim is a text-based story where players can look to woo either Mercy or Genji. Bachelors and bachelorettes can choose which character to romance and attempt to earn their favor through a series of dialogue options.

Hanzo will also be involved, acting as Cupid while you try to win the heart of your favorite character. He will present you with possible replies which will drastically alter how they feel toward you.

The full story takes around 30 minutes to complete from start to finish and is strictly non-canonical, instead, it will simply flesh out the characters in a brand-new way.

Overwatch players can also earn an exclusive Hanzo skin.

How to play Loverwatch Dating Sim

The Loverwatch Dating Sim can be played on the official Loverwatch website, and won’t feature anywhere within Overwatch 2 itself. It went live on February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day, and will run until February 28.

At the end of February, the website will go offline and players will no longer be able to access the game.

How to unlock Overwatch 2 Hanzo Cupid intro in Loverwatch Dating Sim

Overwatch players can also earn an exclusive Hanzo Cupid intro by unlocking the secret ending of the Loverwatch story. This can be done by completing two playthroughs where you romance Mercy in one and Genji in the other.

Then, when starting a third run of Loverwatch, you’ll be met by Cupid Hanzo who will reward you with a special intro. This can then be found in Overwatch the next time you log in.

There is also a Hanzo Cupid skin to unlock, but this must be purchased from the Overwatch 2 store and cannot be obtained in the Loverwatch Dating Sim.
