Imaginary March 7th in Honkai Star Rail

Like the Trailblazer, March 7th unlocked new abilities in Honkai Star Rail with a new Path and Element.

Here’s the best Imaginary build featuring the best Light Cone, Relics, and teammates, as well as details on her materials and Eidolons.

Best Honkai Star Rail Imaginary March 7th build

  • Relics: Musketeer of Wild Wheat / Wastelander of Banditry Desert
  • Planar Ornament: Space Sealing Station
  • Light Cone: Swordplay
  • Team: Xueyi, Lynx, Asta (F2P) / Robin, Aventurinie, Topaz

While Imaginary March 7th is a Hunt unit, she also has supporting abilities in her kit, making her a versatile DPS. At the same time, she lacks the damage output to be a main DPS and decimate enemies with ease, so you should pair her with another one.

Either way, you should focus on improving March’s ATK, CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, and Imaginary DMG, as you’d do with most DPS. You can also improve her SPD to help her get Charges more often to enhance her abilities.

How to get Imaginary March 7th for free

You need to play the Finest Duel Under the Pristine Blue Trailblaze Continuance and reach the March to Mastery: A Star Is Born sub-mission to unlock Imaginary March 7th in Honkai Star Rail.

You can play this quest any time thanks to the Finality’s Vision feature or by completing the Obsequies Performed, A Long Road Ahead mission.

You’ll be able to switch between the Hunt and Preservation versions of March at any time, just like you do with the Trailblazer, so you’ll need to equip her with a new Light Cone and Relics once you unlock her.

Best Relics

Musketeer of Wild Wheat

  • Two-piece bonus: ATK increases by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: The wearer’s SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

This is the go-to Relic set for most DPS units in the game because it helps improve the character’s ATK and SPD. While it’s pretty standard, March 7th doesn’t have much better alternatives to pick from.

Wastelander of Banditry Desert

  • Two-piece bonus: Increases Imaginary DMG by 10%.
  • Four-piece bonus: When attacking debuffed enemies, the wearer’s CRIT Rate increases by 10%. Moreover, if the enemy is Imprisoned, then the wearer’s CRIT DMG increases by 20%.

Wastelander of Banditry Desert is a great alternative for Imaginary March 7th. You could go for the full set or combine a two-piece set with Musketeer of Wild Wheat to enhance her in all the right places, improving her overall DMG output and ATK stat.

Best Planar Ornament

Space Sealing Station and Firmament Frontline: Glamoth are similar Planar Ornaments in Honkai Star Rail, and both sets work with March 7th’s kit. You’ll need to improve her SPD to make sure you trigger their effects, but that can be easy with Harmony characters.

Izumo Gensei and Takama Divine Realm is the next best alternative, but keep in mind that you’ll need another Hunt unit in the team. This Planar Ornament increases March’s ATK by 12% for starters. Then, if there’s another Hunt unit in the team, her CRIT Rate increases by 12%.

Best Light Cone

Subscribe for More!

Increases the DMG of the wearer’s Basic ATK and Skill by up to 48%. This effect increases by an extra 24~48% when wearer’s current Energy reaches its max level.

While improving March’s Skill DMG isn’t going to make a difference, enhancing her Basic ATK alone is enough to greatly boost her DMG output.

Swordplay

For each time the wearer hits the same target, DMG dealt increases by up to 16%, stacking up to five times. This effect will be dispelled when the wearer changes targets.

Sushang’s Light Cone works great with March 7th’s kit, as her Enhanced Basic ATK lands many hits at once.

Final Victor

Increases the wearer’s ATK by up to 20%. When the wearer lands a CRIT hit on enemies, it gains a stack of Good Fortune, piling up to four times. Every stack of Good Fortune will increase the CRIT DMG by up to 12%. Good Fortune will be removed at the end of the wearer’s turn.

This is another Light Cone that can improve Imaginary March 7th’s ATK and overall DMG output. However, we recommend In the Night or Cruising in the Stellar Sea to improve her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG.

Best Honkai Star Rail teams for Imaginary March 7th

Since Imaginary Mach 7th accumulates Charges every time her Shifu attacks, she’s most effective when added to a team focused on follow-up attacks, including Topaz, Aventurine, and Robin. In this team, Aventurine is the sustain unit, while Robin can enhance all her allies’ ATK with her Ultimate. Topaz would be the main DPS in this composition.

If you’re going for a free-to-play team, Xueyi should be the main DPS, as she can build synergy with March, thanks to her follow-up attack. Asta can improve March’s SPD with her Ultimate, and you can pick either Lynx or Natasha as a healer.

Imaginary March 7th abilities

  • My Sword Zaps Demons (Basic ATK) – Deals Imaginary DMG to a single enemy and gains one Charge.
  • Brows Be Smitten, Hearts Be Bitten (Enhanced Basic ATK) – Initially, the attack delivers three hits, each dealing Imaginary DMG to a single target enemy. After the final hit, there is a chance to deal with up to three additional hits. This Enhanced Basic ATK cannot recover Skill Points.
  • Master, It’s Tea Time! (Skill) – Designates a single ally as Shifu and increases their SPD by up to 10.8%. Only the most recent target of March 7th’s Skill is considered as Shifu. When performing a Basic ATK or dealing a single hit of Enhanced Basic ATK’s DMG, the effect is triggered based on the specific Path of Shifu:
    • Erudition, Destruction, The Hunt: Deals Additional DMG (DMG Type based on Shifu’s Combat Type).
    • Harmony, Nihility, Preservation, Abundance: Increases the Toughness Reduction of this instance of DMG.
  • March 7th, the Apex Heroine (Ultimate) – Deals Imaginary DMG to a single target enemy. Additionally, it boosts the initial Hits Per Action of the next Enhanced Basic ATK by two hits and increases the fixed chance of dealing extra DMG by 20%.
  • Master, I’ve Ascended! (Talent) – After Shifu uses an attack or Ultimate, March 7th gains up to one Charge each time. Upon reaching seven or more, her DMG output instantly increases by up to 88%, enhancing her Basic ATK. However, her Skills will be unavailable. Enhanced Basic ATK consumes seven Charges. The maximum number of Charges is capped at 10.
  • Feast in One Go (Technique) – If March 7th is on the team, she gains one Charge at the start of the next battle whenever an ally uses Technique, up to a maximum of three Charges. After using Technique, March 7th regenerates 30 Energy when the next battle starts.

The new version of March 7th is still a four-star unit, but she’s an Imaginary character in the Path of The Hunt. These HSR units usually specialize in dealing massive damage to single-target enemies, but March adds some fresh elements to the role.

The beloved character was left behind as a Preservation unit after others like Fu Xuan and Aventurine debuted. While her new version isn’t among the best Hunt characters either, she has some interesting supporting abilities.

Her Skill is her most important ability and can have different effects depending on the team composition.

Imaginary March 7th Eidolons

  • My Sword Stirs Starlight (E1) – When Shifu is on the field, increases March 7th’s SPD by 10%.

Additionally, triggers the corresponding effect based on Shifu’s Path and then gains one Charge. If there is no primary target available to attack, then she attacks a single random enemy instead. This effect can only trigger once per turn.
  • Sharp Wit in Martial Might (E3) – Skill Level +2, up to a maximum of Level 15. Basic ATK Level +1, up to a maximum of Level 10.
  • Being Fabulous Never Frights (E4) – At the start of the turn, regenerates 5 Energy.
