GTA 6 players discover Red Dead Redemption 2 Easter egg in reveal trailer
Rockstar GamesRockstar and Easter eggs are an age-old combo and some fans have found a strong reference to Red Dead Redemption 2 in the GTA 6 trailer.
After more than 10 years of silence, Rockstar have shed light on what is arguably the most anticipated game of all time, GTA 6. The reveal trailer broke almost every video game record out there.
With roughly 150M views in 10 days, GTA 6’s first look trailer has people completely hooked. Of course, hardcore Grand Theft Auto fans will not shy away from scrutinizing every second of the trailer, searching for hints and Easter eggs.
It appears that they have succeeded, as one of them found a reference to one of the most successful games Rockstar ever created, Red Dead Redemption 2, or more specifically, Red Dead Online.
X user ‘Tempest’ posted on their feed about this as they discovered the face of an RDR 2 criminal called Everett Morgan on one of the store glasses that Lucia and her partner went to rob in the GTA 6 trailer.
Everett Morgan was one of the minor bounties that you could track and catch in Red Dead Online. Like every bounty mission in RDR 2 and Red Dead Online, you would have to track him down and hand him over to the cops, dead or alive, for some quick cash.
Unsurprisingly, other GTA 6 fans caught the reference as they said “Already knew the Easter Egg when the trailer dropped.” One of them also added: “It literally is it. The silhouette matches up.”
Red Dead Redemption 2 was a ground-breaking release by Rockstar as many fans consider it to be the greatest game of all time. This means that there could be more Easter eggs and references to RDR 2 in GTA 6 when it finally comes out.
GTA 5 had several references from the previous Read Dead Redemption title, so fans could expect to see some RDR 2 Easter eggs in the upcoming title as well. With such an obvious Easter egg in the reveal trailer itself, don’t be surprised to find some references to Arthur Morgan, the main protagonist of RDR 2 in the upcoming GTA title as well.
