After Rockstar Games thanked every developer that worked on Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online in a post, fans of the video game series became convinced that a GTA 6 reveal is on its way.

Ever since it was officially confirmed by Rockstar Games that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in development, the GTA fanbase has been keeping an eye out for official announcements from the devs.

Through numerous leaks and reports, we’ve found out potential details about the game’s main character and location. Now, players are convinced that the developers are planning an official reveal for GTA 6.

On September 2, Rockstar Games posted an update thanking over 5,000 developers that have worked on Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online. They then credited all of them in alphabetical order.

Rockstar stated: “GTA V and GTA Online represent the combined efforts of our global team over many years. We want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to these games, from their original launch in 2013 all the way through to the present day.”

Shortly after Rockstar insider ‘Tez2’ shared the page on Twitter, players began wondering about the reason for this message. Some speculated that this could be a hint from the devs about the end of the GTA 5 era.

One Twitter user claimed that this post is actually “the beginning of the end” as the Rockstar Games are teasing that “[GTA V] is finally approaching its well-deserved retirement and VI is coming.”

Another user tweeted: “Okay, my heart just stopped at the thought of GTA 6 material.” However, a few players in the thread disagreed with the notion that Rockstar are teasing the end of GTA 5 or the beginning of GTA 6.

It’s likely that they are simply thanking the developers for their hard work over the past decade. One player stated: “With the success of Online, I’m sure they’re gonna want to keep updating it alongside GTA 6.”

The Grand Theft Auto developers have made huge promises about setting creative benchmarks with GTA 6, and it remains to be seen exactly how they hope to achieve that. Hopefully, an official reveal isn’t far off.
