Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has updated players regarding GTA 6’s development and revealed that they’re aiming to set “creative benchmarks.”

Fans of the Grand Theft Auto series have been eagerly anticipating new information about GTA 6 ever since Rockstar Games confirmed that the game is under development, but official details have been scarce.

Players have mainly relied on leaks and reports to learn more about the sixth entry in the popular video game franchise, but now Take-Two Interactive have provided an official update about its development.

GTA 6 was brought up by Rockstar’s parent company during an earnings call, and while we didn’t get any news about its official release date, Take-Two stated that “development is well underway.”

They then added that Rockstar is “determined to set creative benchmarks for the series, industry, and entertainment.” This means that the developers are aiming to bring a GTA experience like never before.

It remains to be seen exactly how they will achieve this, but there are already leaks and reports of Rockstar trying new things with GTA 6, such as introducing the franchise’s first-ever playable female protagonist.

The developers previously stated that they want to exceed expectations after announcing that they’re cutting back on Red Dead Online content to focus on making GTA 6 “the best it can possibly be.”

Hopefully, we’ll receive more details about the game’s development soon, including the official release date. Once those have been officially confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two Interactive, we’ll be sure to let you know.
