Tekken 8 is almost here, bringing with it the latest iteration of the King of the Iron Fist Tournament. If you want to be prepared for its release, here’s how to preload Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 is set to bring the iconic franchise into the next generation. Built using Unreal Engine 5, Tekken 8 comes with a brand-new story and new game modes, while also introducing multiple new characters. The core fighting experience has been touched up through the debut of the Heat system, and you can expect a selection of new fighters to be added as DLC characters.

If you want to be prepared for its release on January 26, it’s best to preload the game. On that note, here’s how to preload Tekken 8, including the game’s file size.

How to preload Tekken 8

Tekken 8 will be available for preload on PS5 at 3 PM PT/ 6 PM ET/ 11 PM GMT on January 23rd. While unconfirmed, Xbox players should also be able to preload the game around this time.

Players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can download it by locating it in their games library, or by going to Tekken 8’s digital store page. At the moment, there is no word on a preload option for PC players.

Tekken 8: File size

Tekken 8 will take up around 80.1 GB of space on PS5 and Xbox consoles. For PC players, that figure can rise to 100 GB.

For reference, Tekken 7 weighed around 45 GB at launch but rose to 76 GB through the inclusion of new characters and content. Tekken 8’s size requirements are par for the course, especially when compared to other modern fighting games like Mortal Kombat 1 and Street Fighter 6.
