You will need to collect three Rune Tablets to complete Gerlinde’s quest in Lords of the Fallen. You can slot Runes into your weapons and increase their overall power massively with several other benefits after collecting each Rune Tablet.

Cracked Rune Tablet

Follow these steps to get the Cracked Rune Tablet in Lords of the Fallen:

1. Start from the Shuja Hamlet Vestige, move on straight ahead to Fitzroy’s Gorge, and hug right to reach an area with a door in a small cave that you can pass through by holding up the lamp.
2. Once you are through the door, get into Umbral and move ahead.
3. You will find an Umbral Bridge and cross it, but beware of the projectile that will be fired at you once you cross it.
4. Move left after crossing the bridge and take a sharp right to drop down to an area with a ladder. Drop down, follow the road, and you will get to the Cracked Rune Tablet.

Chipped Rune Tablet

Follow these steps to get the Chipped Rune Tablet in Lords of the Fallen:

1. After defeating the Spurned Progeny boss, activate the District Vestige. From there, follow the road as it is as there will be only one path until you come across a Ruiner miniboss.
2. Defeat it or run past it, move up the stairs, and drop the small opening on the right with a Vesitge Flower bed.
3. Move ahead to see a fireplace and loot it to find the Chipped Rune Tablet.

Rune Tablet

Follow these steps to get the Rune Tablet in Lords of the Fallen:

1. You will get to the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters quite later in your playthrough as it is one of the final areas in the game.
2. Start from the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters Vestige, run back to the Tower of Penance, and take the elevator on the left if you have not unlocked it yet.
3. Once you are at the top, make your way down until you reach the other side of the entrance and can unlock it.
4. Keep moving around the other side of the circular room to find a chest that has the Rune Tablet in it.

Who to give Rune Tablet to in Lords of the Fallen?

You should give the Rune Tablet to Gerlinde in Lords of the Fallen. You can give the first two Rune Tablets to Gerlinde, however, you will have to choose the bearer of the final Rune Tablet as you can either give it to Gerlinde or to Sparky.

Giving it to Gerlinde will get you a free Rune that ignores all stat and weight requirements of the item you are slotting it in. However, if you give it to Sparky, you will set him free from Gerlinde’s clutches and have the ability to slot Runes and upgrades at Vestiges.

Although giving it to Sparky gets you a moral benefit and an achievement, you will have to pay Gerlinde double the normal amount for her services. Plus, giving the Rune Tablet to her gets you one of the best Runes in the game.
