Years after its initial release, Genshin Impact has made a quality-of-life update to its daily quest systems with Encounters. Here is what Adventure Encounters is in Genshin Impact and how to get Encounter Points.

Version 4.1 of Genshin Impact added a lot of content, as you’d usually expect from HoYoverse’s open-world RPG. The update added two new characters, including the highly anticipated Neuvillette, two brand-new regions, boss fights, and a lot more to look forward to.

However, the other welcome addition was a change to Genshin Impact’s daily repeatable missions, called Daily Commission. While the traditional 4-mission system remains as is, there is a new option that’ll give you equal rewards for doing something else.

Here’s everything you need to know about Encounter Points in Genshin Impact.

What is Adventure Encounter in Genshin Impact?

Rewards are shared between Commissions and Encounters.

Adventure Encounter in Genshin Impact is an alternative to Daily Commission. Instead of doing four separate Daily Commissions, you can play the game as you normally would—completing quests, opening chests, collecting Oculus, and completing events.

Activities will give you Encounter Points based on their length and difficulty. Once you’ve done enough you’ll get one point, which is equivalent to one Commission.

You need to be either Adventure Rank 35 or higher or have completed the Archon Quest Chapter 2, Act 3 “Omnipresence Over Mortals” to unlock Adventure Encounter in Genshin Impact.

How to get Adventure Points in Genshin Impact

Adventure Encounters reset each day like Daily Commissions in Genshin Impact.

Players get Encounter Points in Genshin Impact by completing quests, opening chests, collecting Oculus, and completing events. Each will give you a different amount of Adventure Points.

For example, if you open two chests, or collect two Oculus, you’ll get one Encounter Point. Likewise, completing and claiming the event challenge will give you two Encounter Points. Shorter quests will give you fewer points, while big World Quests or Archon Quests will give you more.

Adventure Encounter vs. Daily Commission: Which is better?

For players who are fresh out of Adventure Rank 35 in Genshin Impact, and those who have a lot to explore, Adventure Encounter is better. It allows you to enjoy the game without having to worry about Daily Commissions.

Even for veteran players who have completed most of the content, Adventure Encounter eliminates worries about Daily Commission. But they’re not better if you’ve cleared most of the game. Daily Commissions can be knocked off faster in those situations.

You can always mix it up, especially during events, as certain Commissions are longer. All Commissions where you have to talk to someone are generally long and tedious. These are at the end if you’re tracking through the adventure handbook, skip them, and complete the event challenge for the day.

The purpose of Adventure Encounter is to encourage players to explore and complete events. That’s all about Adventure Encounter in Genshin Impact. For more on the game, check out:
