Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4‘s latest update, version 26.30, finally brought back the Halloween celebrations with Fortnitemares 2023. Until the end of October, players will get the chance to grab spooky items on the map, as well as special outfits and much more.
Kado Thorne, this season’s villain and Battle Pass’ last skin, finally transformed into a vampire, giving players a new challenge. Of course, Fortnitemares 2023 also introduced new weapons to help players deal with this.

Fortnitemares 2023 start & end date
Fortnitemares 2023 launched on Tuesday, October 10, and will run until Friday, November 3. Epic Games confirmed the date just a couple of days before the event.
Fortnitemares 2023 Kado Thorne vampire boss
Fortnite’s Kado Thorne finally transformed into his vampire state for the Fortnitemares 2023 event. Players can find the Boss NPC at Eclipse Estate before they claim the outfit in the Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass.
Those strong enough to defeat Kado Thorne will get Thorne’s Vampiric Blade, a new version of the Kinetic Blade introduced in Chapter 4 Season 2. This weapon regenerates Health when you hit an enemy with it, so keep that in mind when facing the powerful boss.
Fortnitemares 2023: Witch Brooms & candy return
Witch Brooms and Candy are back in Fortnite as part of the Fortnitemares 2023 event. The Witch Broom propels the player upward to escape from hairy situations.
On the other hand, players can find an abundance of Candy distributed across the map, offering various benefits such as the ability to heal injured players with small amounts of Health or Shield.
Fortnitemares 2023 new augments
During the Fortnitmares 2023 event, Fortnite received two new Reality Augments to its lineup of Halloween-themed content. Here are the two Augments explained:
- Witchy Warrior: Instantly gain a Witch Broom. Reduce the cooldown for Witch Broom.
- Trick or Treat: Instantly gain candy. Eliminations drop additional candy and candy restores additional shield.

As with the other updates, the Fortnitemares 2023 event brought new quests for players to complete, including the use of Witch Brooms and more.
Players who complete certain amounts of Fortnitemares Quests will get special items that include sprays, emotes, wraps, and the Batwing Bonespike Pickaxe.
Fortnitemares 2023 new skins: Jack Skellington, Michael Myers & Alan Wake
Fortnitemares 2023 also introduced exciting new skins that Fortnite players can proudly showcase during the Halloween season. Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas got his own bundle in the Item Shop, while Michael Myers from Halloween and Alan Wake from the Remedy video game franchise will get theirs in the coming days. On top of Thorne’s Vampiric Blade, Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 also debuted the Wood Stake Shotgun in Fortnitemares 2023. Despite its description saying it’s great for dealing with vampires and the undead, it has no special properties and it’s just a very powerful shotgun. Players can find it with different rarities as ground loot or inside different kinds of chest
On the other hand, as is tradition, the Pumpkin Launcher also came back for this year’s spooky event, allowing players to use this Halloween-themed variant of the Rocket Launcher.
