EA FC 24 is due to arrive on both current and last-gen consoles, but players will receive slightly different features depending on their console. Here are all the differences between the PS4 and Xbox One versions of EA FC 24 versus PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

When EA Sports FC 24 arrives on September 29, it’s set to bring a host of new features across the game. The devs have revealed additions in both Career Mode and Ultimate Team, along with plenty of gameplay improvements that will be felt across all modes.

But with EA FC 24 launching on both current and last-gen hardware, players are wondering how their experience will be different on PS4 and Xbox One compared to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Here’s a breakdown of all the differences between the current and last-gen versions of EA FC 24.

EA FC 24 brings a ton of new features, but not all players will be able to experience them.

While the vast majority of EA FC 24 features are available across current and last-gen platforms, there are a handful that aren’t included in the PS4 and Xbox One versions. This is mainly due to technical limitations with the older consoles, so certain elements have been excluded to keep the game running smoothly.

As expected, most of these missing features apply to on-the-pitch gameplay, so new additions to Ultimate Team mode like Evolution or the arrival of women’s players will be universal.

Here’s a look at all the features that are missing from the PS4 and Xbox One versions of EA FC 24.

HyperMotion V

As explained in the EA FC 24 pitch notes, Hypermotion V is exclusive to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This means that a number of on-the-pitch innovations made possible by the technology are missing on older hardware.

Hypermotion V uses data captured from 180 real matches to power many of the new animations and features that add realism to EA FC 24, including AcceleRATE 2.0. Here’s a list of all the gameplay features that won’t be in the PS4 and Xbox One versions of EA FC 24 as a result of not having HyperMotion V:

Don’t worry though, new features like improved shielding and ball physics will still be included in EA FC 24.

Dynamic Moments in Career Mode

The Ballon d’Or award will only feature in the current-gen version.

EA FC 24 is bringing the new Dynamic Moments feature to Career Mode, which adds new cut scenes to celebrate the biggest moments of the season. These include open-top bus parades after a big title win, as well as end-of-season awards like the Ballon d’Or.

Unfortunately, these additional cut scenes are not making the jump over to last-gen consoles and are exclusive to the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players on older hardware will be limited to the on-pitch trophy lifts that have been included in Career Mode over the last few years.

Visuals

Of course, EA FC 24 also features a number of visual upgrades that won’t be as noticeable on the last generation of consoles. PS4 and Xbox One players won’t benefit from the same lighting, crowd, and animation improvements that the more powerful hardware allows.

While this means that the last-gen version won’t be as realistic to look at, all of the additional presentation features, like on-pitch overlays that display stats, mean that EA FC 24 will still be the most visually impressive game in the series to hit Xbox One and PS4.
