With Diablo 4 Season 3 heading toward its conclusion, new players must get ready to face the horrors in the upcoming Season 4. As D4 has attracted many players with the new Game Pass launch, here’s how to prepare for Diablo 4 Season 4.

Blizzard has a ton of plans regarding the upcoming Diablo 4 Season 4 and new players might find the game a bit overwhelming after joining in the middle of Season 3, thanks to the Game Pass.

However, there are certain prerequisites that players must make sure to fulfill if they want to have an easier time in Season 4 as many new challenges are inbound once again.

On that note, let’s take a look at everything you can do to make the most of Diablo 4 Season 4.

What to do before Diablo 4 Season 4

Here’s everything you need to do before heading off to Diablo 4 Season 4:

  • Finish the campaign
  • Find all 160 Altar of Lilith statues
  • Unlock all map areas
  • Keep track of the Codex of Aspects
  • Farm Renown before Diablo 4 Season 4

Finish the Diablo 4 campaign before Season 4

You must complete the Diablo 4 campaign to unlock the seasonal content, just like it was in previous seasons. If you are a new player, this is one of the most important steps before heading off to your first seasonal experience.

If you’ve completed the campaign with any of your characters, you’ll have the option to skip it whenever you begin a new character, so it will just be a one-time endeavor. It is essential to clarify that you’ll still be able to play Diablo 4 Season 4 without completing the campaign, but is it highly recommended to achieve a fulfilling experience in the game.

Find all 160 Altar of Lilith statues

You’ll want to find all 160 Altar of Lilith statues before Season 4 as it provides your character with the following stats by default:

  • 68 Strength
  • 68 Intelligence
  • 68 Willpower
  • 68 Dexterity
  • 100 Murmuring Obols capacity
  • 4 Paragon Points

Your progress related to finding the Altar of Lilith statues in Diablo 4 will carry over to subsequent seasons. This means that if you find all 160 Altar of Lilith statues before Season 4, you won’t have to roam all over the map and find them again.

Unlock all map areas

Unlocking all the map areas in Diablo 4 can be quite beneficial for traveling in Season 4 as the major waypoints will be carrying over. The main map allows you to keep track of the number of unlockable waypoints in each region, so make sure to grab all of them.

Keep track of your Codex of Aspects

In the Diablo 4 Season 4, your Legendary Aspects from the Codex of Power won’t carry over. To avoid a repetitive grinding experience, it’s advised to note down the Legendary Aspects you want for your seasonal character and then grind the Dungeons best suited for your build.

There is no harm in trying to 100% the game during every playthrough if you want, but do note that getting unnecessary Aspects does not add anything to your playthrough on a gameplay basis.

How much Renown can you farm before Diablo 4 Season 4

You can get 3135 Renown at the outset of Diablo 4 Season 4 which will ensure the following benefits for your seasonal character:

  • +5 Skill Points
  • +5 Potion Charges

If you discover the entire Diablo 4 map and find all 160 Altar of Lilith statues, here’s how much guaranteed Renown you’ll get ahead of Season 4:

RegionRenown from Altar of Lilith statuesRenown from map areas discoveredTotal Renown
Scosglen340 (34 statues x 10 Renown)350 (70 areas x 5 Renown)690
Dry Steppes330 (33 statues x 10 Renown)255 (51 areas x 5 Renown)585

Fractured Peaks280 (28 statues x 10 Renown)380 (76 areas x 5 Renown)660

Both Skill Points and Potion Charges are very important for any Diablo 4 character and you’ll have a massive advantage with these buffs early on. You can also get additional Paragon points once you have farmed enough Renown from reach the region.

However, don’t stress too much about Renown in Diablo 4, as you can take your time and explore slowly one region at a time to get it. This was everything you need to know to be prepared for Diablo 4 Season 4.
