Diablo 4 players frustrated over endgame content that “discourages multiplayer”

A new Diablo 4 player wondered if every quest that can be found in Sanctuary could be “soloed,” which veterans were quick to answer why they think that, even if Blizzard’s latest ARPG is a live-service game, it was designed for single-player.

Diablo 4 promised a full multiplayer experience when it was announced to be the first-ever “live-service” edition of the franchise. As players quickly discovered, Blizzard’s ARPG didn’t have enough features to create a real multiplayer experience, even when some of the World Bosses were announced as “party events.”

While Season of Blood is still in full swing and players are enjoying the holiday event “Midwinter Blight,” some new users wonder if there’s really multiplayer content during the endgame: “Is there any content that isn’t soloable?,” asked Reddit user ‘Misplacedmyp.’

“So I’m late to the party and only recently started playing. I’m currently a 74 necro, working my way up the nightmare dungeon tiers. I see a lot of solo talk about this game so I began to wonder if everything is soloable, and perhaps it would be easier to make a short list of any content that might not be,” described the OP.

Diablo 4 players explained that there aren’t enough features to encourage playing with friends.

Diablo 4 fans were quick to answer that every feature is “soloable,” and that players with the right build can overcome every challenge that Season 2 has presented so far. “Nothing stands in the way with the right build and enough tenacity,” said Redditor ‘Eden_Falls.’

However, some users think that the lack of multiplayer content during Diablo 4 endgame isn’t really a surprise, since Blizzard’s latest ARPG didn’t introduce any specific multiplayer feature. “There’s no party finder, chat rooms, any sort of social aspect…so yes, it’s all soloable content,” chimed Reddit user ‘Hailtheblackmarket.’

“Everything can be soloed which is how I prefer it. Getting into a group and finding people is too much of a pain. Yes, I know you can rotate materials but I don’t want to spend 10-20 minutes trying to find people. I just want to play so I’ll happily buy mats and just use them for me. I can easily take down duriel with my druid solo,” also explained Redditor ‘JakePens71.’

Most Diablo 4 players agreed that even when finally finding a party to complete endgame content, the game itself ends “discouraging multiplayer” thanks to an unbalanced meta. “The hardest content is arguably harder in a group, because Blizz decided not to design really any meaningful synergy among the classes,” commented Redditor ‘dirty_taco56.’

“The group buffs people do offer are totally negated by the massive imbalance between the classes. There’s pretty much no benefit to grouping with someone in AoZ, and on top of that, the more people in the group, the more likely it is that someone will die and cause the run to fail,” pointed out the user.

And that’s why the Diablo 4 community thinks that endgame content discourages multiplayer. If you want to know more about Blizzard’s latest ARPG, you can check what inventory issue is causing Diablo 4 players to quit and what endgame cosmetics fans are demanding to change.
