The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred DLC is set to bring a range of fresh content to the game, from a new class to a brand-new region for you to explore. So here’s everything you need to know about this new expansion including its official release date.

The Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred DLC is the first-ever expansion to come to the game. This expansion was teased last year, and Blizzard have finally revealed more details about the content you’ll see in this DLC.

With that said, here’s everything that Blizzard has revealed about the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4, including the release date and the new activities that come along with it.

What is the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred release date?

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred is set to go live on October 8, 2024, as mentioned during the Xbox Games Showcase and on their official website.

Blizzard hasn’t announced any early access for the Vessel of Hatred expansion, and considering that it’s a DLC, it’s unlikely that they will do so either.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred price and editions

There are four editions of the Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred that you can get your hands on. Here’s a list of all of them, including their prices:

  • Diablo 4 Expansion bundle (contains the base game and the expansion): $69.99
  • Standard Edition: $39.99
  • Deluxe Edition: $59.99
  • Ultimate Edition: $89.99

It’s worth noting that barring the Expansion bundle, the other three editions just contain the Vessel of Hatred expansion and not the base game. You will not be able to play the expansion if you don’t own the base game.

New region and class coming to Vessel of Hatred

In Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred, you will be able to venture into the newest region of Nahantu where you will be able to explore the jungles of Kurast and the barren lands of Teganze.

Diablo 4 Spiritborn
The Spiritborn is a class that is born within the jungles of Nahantu.

You will be able to explore this region using a brand new class known as the Spiritborn. This class is native to the region and is seen wielding a double-bladed Naginata. Not much is known about this class for now, but Blizzard is set to delve into the details of this class in a campfire chat on July 18.

Pets and mercenaries arrive in new Diablo 4 expansion

In the new Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred DLC, you can hire mercenaries to aid you in combat. As you gain power through your journey, your mercenaries will level up as well.

That aside, you will also have pets by your side that will help you collect all materials and gold that enemies drop when you slay them.

In the new expansion, you’ll be able to access a new War-cat mount, and this is the first time that the developers are introducing an animal as a mount that isn’t a horse.

New Raid coming to Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

Although the developers haven’t explicitly made this clear, they’ve announced a new dungeon which does sound like a new Raid.

Based on the description, the developers are calling this new activity a multifaceted Dungeon where you need to team up with other players to complete it.

So far, all the Dungeons in the game don’t necessarily need you to team up with others to complete them. With the right build, you can easily solo every single Dungeon that the game has to offer.

Given that Blizzard has explicitly mentioned that you’ll need to team up with others to complete it, suggests that this activity is indeed a raid.

Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred campaign

The campaign for Vessel of Hatred will pick up from where the campaign for the base Diablo 4 game left off. You’ll look for Neyrelle within the jungles of Nahantu to try and discover Mephisto’s agenda.

That sums up everything we know about Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred so far, but we’ll be sure to update this piece once Blizzard reveals more details about the content that’s coming to the game.

Till then be sure to check out everything you need to know about the Artificer’s Pit and how to farm Stygian Stones easily.
