Among all the new content in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, the devs are also bringing back the Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade. Here’s everything you need to know about the PDS in Warzone.

Warzone Season 2 Reloaded is yet another huge content drop for the battle royale, hot on the heels of the Season 2 update which brought back Ranked Play. The midseason patch is bringing a host of new weapons like the SOA Subverter, as well as the Bunker Buster Killstreak.

But on top of all the fresh additions, a familiar piece of equipment is making its way back to the game, as the Portable Decontamination Station arrives in Warzone.

Warzone players will remember the PDS from the Caldera days, but if you’re in need of a refresher since it disappeared, here’s everything you need to know about it.

Warzone Portable Decontamination Station explained

Warzone’s PDS Field Upgrade creates a temporary safe space within the toxic gas cloud, protecting any players that are inside. This means you can safely plot your next move without having to worry about the toxic cloud eating away at your Gas Mask and health.

The devs also confirmed that the Portable Decontamination Station can also be attached to a vehicle, allowing you and your squad to venture out into the gas and claim any loot, or reach safety without being at a disadvantage once you reach the circle.

The PDS was first introduced back in the Caldera days.

However, this returning Field Upgrade does come with a handful of drawbacks; the main one being that your safe area will be marked on the map for enemies to see. So, keep in mind that you might lose the element of surprise if you decide to venture out of the circle.

The other downside is that the duration of the Field Upgrade is lowered after the sixth circle, meaning it can’t be abused towards the latter stages of a match. That being said, it hasn’t been revealed how drastic the drop will be, so only time will tell if squads still find it useful in the endgame.

That was everything we know about the PDS Field Upgrade in Warzone. We’ll be sure to update this page with more details, including how to get it, once it’s live.
