Modern Warfare 3 players have plenty to keep them occupied ahead of the Season 1 update. The game features 36 new weapons to unlock and level up, along with four fresh Mastery camos to grind toward for each one.

But the devs have been releasing regular in-game events to give fans even more items to work toward, such as the True Legends event as part of Call of Duty Endowment. This time, they’re celebrating the comeback of the series’ most notorious villain – Makarov.

Modern Warfare 3 Makarov’s Return end date

The Makarov’s Return event in Modern Warfare 3 comes to an end on Friday, December 1, 2023, after getting underway on Friday, November 24. This means players have a full week to grind and unlock every reward on offer.

How to unlock free rewards in MW3 Makarov’s Return event

Modern Warfare 3 players can get free Makarov’s Return rewards simply by playing matches and racking up XP. Every bit of XP earned during the event will contribute towards the next free unlock, so there’s no need to complete any specific challenges, you can progress by playing normally.

For those wanting to make short work of the event, players can also get bonus XP by equipping the Nemesis Makarov skin which was unlocked by purchasing the Vault Edition of MW3. Each match completed while running this Operator grants 1,000 XP, in addition to any already earned during the game.
