Warzone 2 & MW2: How to test Weapon Blueprints in Firing Range

Warzone 2 Operator with Blueprint

Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 have a store full of weapon Blueprints to purchase, and the developers have added a ‘try before you buy’ feature to the Firing Range, so here’s how to use it.

With Warzone 2 Season 4 Reloaded in full swing, the store is brimming with bundles to purchase including Kevin Durant, Supes from Amazon’s The Boys, and the divisive Whisker Tango Bundle. These bundles always include Weapon Blueprints – skins that are applied to individual attachments, overhauling the look of the weapon.

While you can inspect the Blueprint before you purchase it, sometimes the weapon doesn’t look quite how you imagine when equipping it in-game. Fortunately, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone‘s devs have added a new feature that allows you to bring a Weapon Blueprint you don’t own to the Firing Range to try before you buy.

Here’s how to test Weapon Blueprints in the Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 Firing Range.

How to test Blueprints in Warzone & MW2 Firing Range

To test a Weapon Blueprint in Warzone and Modern Warfare 2’s Firing Range, simply go to the Store and hover over the Blueprint you wish to test and follow the prompt to take the weapon into the Firing Range.

Here’s how to test a Blueprint:

  1. Launch Warzone or Modern Warfare 2.
  2. Head to the Store tab and choose a Bundle.
  3. Hover over the Weapon Blueprint you wish to test.
  4. Follow the prompt to bring the Blueprint to the Firing Range.
    • PlayStation: Triangle
    • Xbox: Y
    • PC: G

However, it appears this feature is only available for select players, and there doesn’t appear to be a clear reason why it appears for some players and not others. While the feature was available to some before the July 24 update, it appears to have rolled out to more players with the patch.

While armor plates were added to the Firing Range with Season 4 Reloaded, Blueprint testing has never been announced by the developers so it’s possible they’re doing a gradual rollout as they iron out kinks, so make sure to check back in the store to see if the feature has appeared in your store.
