The new Whisker Tango bundle has arrived in the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 store, transforming Gus into a human-size cat. While some players have welcomed the arrival of the feline skins, some think it is a step too far.

CoD players are always being treated to new Operator skins and bundles on the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 store. Some of these are new cosmetics designed by the devs themselves, while others are exciting crossovers like The Boys Operators that arrived in Season 4 Reloaded.

However, these Operator skins sometimes cause a stir within the community, whether due to their appearance or the gameplay advantages they bring. Now, another skin has divided the community, with many feeling it is “out of place” in Call of Duty.

On July 23, the Whisker Tango bundle hit the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 store, bringing the Sgt. Pspsps and Sgt. Sprinkles Operator skins, which turn Gus into killer cats.

Many players were quick to embrace the new skins, calling them some of the “best ever” in the games to date. Others joked that it’s the Stray collaboration they never knew they wanted.

That being said, there were others who slammed the Whisker Tango bundle, arguing that it takes much of the realism out of the games.

Responding to CharlieIntel’s tweet, ‘AquaticSnipes’ said: “Please don’t do this. There is a level of fun the skins and everything can have, but please don’t do stuff that takes all the immersion out of it.”

Meanwhile, other players took to Reddit to call out the cat skins. One fan shared a clip of the Sgt. Pspsps character performing a Finishing Move using Homelander’s Laser Vision, prompting even more replies questioning how these features fit into a military shooter.

Wtf is happening to this game lmao,” said one reply, with another agreeing: “So f**king stupid the game is officially dead. Really wish I could get my $75 back if I knew in season 1 this is what the game would become.”

The Sgt. Pspsps and Sgt. Sprinkles skins are hardly the first animal Operators to frustrate the community, as the Rat Pack bundle earned similar complaints back in Season 3 Reloaded. Don’t be surprised to see more cosmetics like this arrive in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in the coming months.
