Meta Warzone 2 SMG “fries” with rapid TTK despite nerf in Season 3

Warzone 2 expert WhosImmortal has showcased a deadly SMG loadout that boasts a “fantastic” TTK in close-range battles even after receiving a damage nerf in the Season 3 update.

When Season 3 went live in Warzone 2, the developers implemented buffs and nerfs to many existing guns in the game in order to make them feel more balanced, and players are now wondering which of these weapons are still viable.

A few SMGs were also hit with nerfs in the update, and Call of Duty guru WhosImmortal claims this hasn’t stopped one of them from being an effective close-range option in Warzone 2 Season 3.

The VEL 46, also known as the MP7, received a nerf to its headshot damage in the Season 3 update, but WhosImmortal feels that the close-range SMG is still one of the “best meta” weapons in the game.

When talking about the VEL 46’s close-range capabilities, the Warzone 2 expert explained: “It’s got the mobility. It’s got the control, and it still has that fantastic TTK. So, all the right and necessary things you need for a good SMG.”

WhosImmortal’s VEL 46 MP7 loadout uses the Lockshot KT85 muzzle and Schlager Tango underbarrel to stabilize the weapon’s recoil and add accuracy so that you can accurately land your shots.

The VLK LZR 7MW and Schlager Soldier Grip improve the ADS speed and sprint-to-fire speed, allowing you to be more mobile. Finally, the Demo RXT Stock further improves mobility by buffing the crouch movement speed, ADS speed, and sprint speed.

While the Season 3 nerfs have made the VEL 46 MP7 less viable than a weapon like the P90, WhosImmortal has assured players that the SMG is still “absolutely going to fry” in close-range battles.
