Modern Warfare 3 has completely overhauled how Perks are used within multiplayer, introducing a new Gear-based Perk system. So, here’s how this refreshed Perk system works in MW3.

MW3 Season 1 is in full swing offering players a ton of content to delve into. This includes a brand-new roster of multiplayer maps, new Perks, and a substantial update for the Zombies experience.

However, despite the game maintaining the Perks and their benefits in multiplayer, SHG drastically shifted how the system works in the game, so here’s all you need to know about the Gear-based Perk system in MW3.

How do Perks work in MW3?

Perks in MW3 are available through Gear, with each piece of Gear providing different functionality and attributes to the player’s experience.

Each piece of Gear is linked to a specific Perk, offering a limited amount of four Gear pieces to include within a Loadout. Just like previous CoD titles, each Gear is categorized into tiers to ensure proper balance within the system.

Further, it’s important to note that when you equip certain pieces, it prevents the duplication of the same effects that some pieces share.
