Hilarious Baldur’s Gate 3 bug turns Durge into a skinwalker

Larian Studios’ record-breaking title, Baldur’s Gate 3, has made fans of the RPG genre fall in love with its seamless worldbuilding and its compelling narrative. Even the most annoying of companions has a story to tell and secrets to be discovered, like the Durge (Aka The Dark Urge), an origin character that is the legendary Bhaalspawn.
For those not so familiar with Baldur’s Gate lore, the Dark Urge carries the blood of Bhaal, Lord of Murder, and one of the evil gods of Faerûn, and it’s slowly becoming a horrendous monster, unable to control its murderous impulses.
But this Polymorph bug ended up turning the Durge into something even scarier, a horrendous sheep monster who some players have baptized as the “Bhaaalspawn” and the “Skinwalker.”
Posted by ‘Professor_Hemlocke’ on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, this post showed what happened when the OP’s Durge character lost control during a fight, and they had to take extreme measures to prevent a TPK: “Used Polymorph and next round they squared up anyways.”
Casting the Polymorph spell to make the Baahlspawn lose its power was a good idea, but ended up turning the ravenous beast into a horrendous sheep monster who kept attacking the party nonetheless: “Nowhere in the polymorph spell does it say they lose their desire to beat your *ss.”
One of the BG3 players commenting on the post said: “Behold, the mighty Baaaahlspawn,” and another had this to say about this hilarious bug: “Skinwalker, is that you?” While a Fallout fan also pointed out: “That’s the f***n Sheepsquatch!”
The bug seems to be an isolated case, and no attempts to reproduce it seem to have worked so far. It is possible that Larian Studios is aware of this bug and might be working on a solution for this. In case they decide to patch it, we will let you know.
