Baldur’s Gate 3 players love to showcase their fails and funny moments, but these players are here to tell you about the time when the game trolled them hard.

Larian Studios’ blockbuster title, Baldur’s Gate 3 has a myriad of funny moments to share with their players. And sometimes, the community likes to give back some of those laughable fail moments, even when they feel like the game totally toys with them.

These BG3 players have gathered to share their in-game slice-of-life moments with the rest of the community, laughing at how they believed to have outsmarted one of the evilest characters in the story, only to find out later that they have been played.

This was shared by Reddit user ‘Chip3165’ in Baldur’s Gate 3 community subreddit, and players couldn’t help but follow up by describing their encounters with the game’s ‘master troll.’ Beware, because there are some heavy spoilers ahead.

The OP narrated how the game showed them an incredible double play: After they completed their first run, and believed they had figured out the shapeshifter infiltrator’s identity was Yenna, the orphan. They were confronted by Lae’Zel on their second run, holding a knife to the kid’s throat.

The player then saw that Lae’Zel was warning them that the child itself was the shapeshifter Orin, one of the harshest enemies in the whole Baldur’s Gate 3 plot. However, when they decided to tell Lae’Zel to cut the child’s throat, they were shocked to discover that Orin was not posing as the child, but as Lae’Zel, trolling them from the beginning.

This masterful setup by Larian Studios’ writing team seems to be one of the “top troll moments” among several of the players commenting on the post. One of them went as far as to said: “Happened to me on a Honour Run, made me feel so paranoid I could barely decide what to do.” And another one said: “I could have sworn Yenna’s cat was Orin to the point that I tried to kill it but the game wouldn’t let me.”

So there you have it, Baldur’s Gate 3 has a hell of a troll among their cast, as is none other than the infamous Orin the Red.
