Baldur’s Gate 3 players share “pettiest” reasons they can’t give the game 10/10

Baldur’s Gate 3 has seen amazing success since release, but that doesn’t mean it’s without its issues. Players have shared the pettiest reasons that have stopped them from giving the game a full 10/10 rating.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive game with many choices, and Larian Studios did their best to bring a game that players can get stuck in for hours with rich characters and storylines. You can even customize your player character, which a lot of fans have loved.

However, not everything came out peachy, and there are some mechanics in-game that have annoyed players to the point of not being able to give the game a solid 10/10.

For example, as ‘hairlikegoats1’ posted on Reddit, you are not able to customize your character’s face. Instead, you can only choose from preset faces in the character creation tab.

“Seeing my character have the same face as an NPC slightly breaks immersion for me,” the OP said. It seems that players would like this option without having to download mods for unique faces and other customization options.

Other than that, some players wish that there were better interactions between the party in camp. “The companions don’t interact with each other at camp. I wish they sat by the fire or walked around or something. It would make camp so much more lively and organic,” another Baldur’s Gate 3 player explained.

This issue even becomes present when there are important cutscenes that usually occur when you’re in camp. One in particular that came up for players is when Gale confesses about his condition to the party.

“He tells every companion to gather around, and proceeds to talk to all of them, yet none of them are in the conversation and he’s just awkwardly pretending they are,” one comment said.

Other reasons had more to do with “jankiness” in the game, as players put it. Shield Bash, for example, has been bugged for a while and it’s “annoying [fans] by not working and prompting.”

“The returning pike and other returning weapons don’t f’n return all the time! I hate suddenly being in the middle of a fight and see my thrower is bare handed. Then remember what previous fight she might have f’n dropped it at,” a player commented.

Larian is still busy releasing regular patches for the game to hopefully bring more fan ratings to a 10, though, and we will keep you updated with any changes that come in future.
