Baldur’s Gate 3 fans might not be surprised by much after facing Mind Flayers, but this funny Owlbear accident has them shocked by its deadly outcome. Here’s what the Baldur’s Gate 3 community has been talking about.

Most Baldur’s Gate 3 players agree that accidents are bound to happen, especially after Larian Studios included plenty of hidden consequences for every action characters take. Even the most experienced players are frequently surprised by what happens while trying to stop the Mind Flayers’ invasion, an unexpected Druid effect has managed to shock them.

In a Reddit post called “I’m in utter disbelief by what just happened,” Redditor ‘lmaoolivia’ posted a clip where their party arrives at the Open Hand Temple’s roof, and they jump off the tower to greet Tara, Gale’s Tressym.

While every character lands safely, the player doesn’t notice that their Druid jumped in Owlbear form, which not only pushed every character out of the way when it landed, but also accidentally killed Tara.

Understandably, fans couldn’t help but point out that this movement was worthy of a WWE fight. “Oh my god, Owlbear with the steel chair!” commented a player, and was followed by dozens of similar reactions. Among the jokes, some users noticed that this was caused after the Owlbear-shaped druid used Crushing Flight, a deadly skill that allows creatures to leap at targets to knock them down.

“For some reason, follower Owlbear uses Crushing Flight for its jump by default. It’s very inconvenient,” explained user ‘TheRedZephyr993.’ Other Baldur’s Gate 3 fans also chimed in and recalled scenarios that were ruined by an Owlbear Druid crushing every character unsuspectingly.

“I found this out entering the Nightsong area. Last one to hop down was my druid in owlbear form. Blasted 2 of my characters into the wild blue yonder. Needless to say, I’ve gotten in the habit of ending wild shape after every fight,” remembered Redditor ‘Fake_Messiah2.’

Some fans agreed that this Owlbear skill should be fixed in upcoming updates, but others said that this might have been planned by Larian Studios, since it’s an occurrence that’s been happening since the game’s release.

And that’s everything about the deadly Owlbear mishap that has Baldur’s Gate 3 players amazed. If you want to know more about Larian Studios’ RPG, you can check why players advise using Wyll for a “full warlock experience” and how to summon the Ooze monster companion.
