Baldur’s Gate 3 has a large array of items and potions that can help you through the toughest fights it has to offer. As one player discovered, Dwarves can play an important part in helping you through a fight – but not in the way you think.

Baldur’s Gate 3 does not shy away from the gory and disgusting. There are many enemies, characters, and places that give players the creeps, and this also applies to some of the things you can consume.

As one player discovered, one of these horrifying consumables is a Roasted Dwarf Belly. “Why does Dwarf Meat heal you?” ‘lawyered2020’ asked on Reddit. “My other poor Dwarf Tav is screaming, crying and throwing up rn.”

The OP shared a picture of the item they picked up and it was indeed a piece of roasted Dwarf. Not only could they eat it, but it actually ended up being a pretty good healing item that heals you for 4d4.

Baldur’s Gate 3 players in the comments were equally horrified, but one actually provided the OP with an explanation as to why this is possible; The Dark Urge is healed by Dwarf Meat.

“If you’re playing Durge I believe they quite literally make a comment about it smelling delicious when they get to the goblin camp near the cooking fire,” another player commented in response to this fact.

Not only can this item heal you when you’re playing as The Dark Urge, but you also get an inspiration point when you eat it. Given that Durge is a pure Bhaalspawn, it kind of makes sense, despite being pretty icky.

So, if you ever come across some Dwarf meat while playing as The Dark Urge, remember that eating it could be to your advantage. You don’t have to tell anyone about it, though, and we won’t judge you if you decide to look the other way.
