There’s a way in Baldur’s Gate 3 to get the rare Infernal Robe for Wyll while keeping Karlach alive at the same time. Here are all the steps you need to know to get the Infernal Robe and save Karlach in BG3.

The backstories of Wyll and Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3 are directly linked and if you wish to have both of them as your companions, you’ll have to pay a price. With both of them alive, you’ll miss out on the chance of having an exclusive outfit for Wyll.

However, there’s a new method that’ll let you get the best of both worlds. Not only can you keep Karlach as one of your companions, but also obtain the rare Infernal Robe from Mizora, and stop Wyll from becoming a Tiefling.

With that in mind, here are all the steps for saving Karlach and securing the Infernal Robe in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to obtain Infernal Robe and save Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3

If you’re looking to get the Infernal Robe for Wyll without slaying Karlach in Baldur’s Gate 3, follow these steps:

Start by dismissing all your party members at your camp, and make Wyll join you.
Ungroup yourself from the party, leave the camp, and visit Karlach.
Now, without getting too close to Karlach, start attacking her from afar until she’s dead.
You have to make sure not to trigger the introductory cutscene with her. If you’re a melee-based character, you need not worry.
Once you attack her from afar and she turns hostile, you can get close to her without triggering the cutscene.
Go back to your camp and talk to Wyll, but don’t take a rest yet. Return to Karlach’s corpse, and revive her, but from a distance.
Finally, take a long rest back at your camp. You’ll watch the cutscene with Mizora where she rewards Wyll for following orders.
Return to where you revived Karlach, with Wyll in your party. She’s alive and well, and you can recruit her.
