Baldur’s Gate 3 has taken the definition of offering players choices to a whole new level, granting fans of the RPG genre an incredible amount of options, features, and more. Despite the success of the game, players are still wondering how to customize their gameplay experience.

Dices are the essence of every tabletop RPG, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception. The game even allows you to change your dice skin, and here’s a quick guide on how to do it in BG3.

How to change your dice skin in Baldur’s Gate 3

To change your dice skin in Baldur’s Gate 3 you need to access the Choose Die Design menu at the bottom left of the screen during skill checks.

The dice menu is only available during throws, so follow these steps to change your dice in BG3:

  1. Open the dice roll menu by choosing any dialogue option that requires you to roll your dice.
  2. Scroll to the bottom left corner and open the small circle menu.
  3. Then click on the ‘Choose Die Design’ menu that appears.
  4. Select from the list. It will automatically change the dice skin.

How to add more dice skins to Baldur’s Gate 3

In Baldur’s Gate 3, dice skins are limited to a select few, and some of them, like the Dragonflame Design, are only available for those who purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game.

However, the good thing is that you can add your additional designs to the standard Die Design Menu.

First, you will need a mod called ‘Dice Set Expansion‘ that you can download from Nexus Mods. To install the mod, you need to access Baldur’s Gate 3 mod manager available right there at Nexus Mods.

Then you can download more skins with the ‘Custom Dice‘ mod. Download the files and then drop them in the game’s data directory. You’ll then have a full set of new dice skins for Baldur’s Gate 3 to enjoy.
