Does XDefiant have crossplay? PC, PlayStation & Xbox cross-platform details
Ubisoft are preparing the arena for XDefiant, their new FPS title that is aiming to compete with Call of Duty, Valorant, and even Destiny 2. Will the XDefiant Open Beta be compatible with crossplay and progression?
XDefiant is a brand new free-to-play game from Ubisoft that is getting ready to launch at the end of this year. But before the official release, the studio is preparing an Open Beta to fully test its functionality.
This new FPS is set in the Tom Clancy universe and will revolve around 6v6 matches, where players will have to choose different abilities to multiply their team’s chances to win. XDefiant is focused on multiplayer gameplay, so cross-platform and cross-progression are key to guarantee its success.
Here’s everything you need to know about XDefiant multiplayer cross-platform.
Does XDefiant support cross-platform multiplayer on PC, PlayStation & Xbox?
XDefiant will feature crossplay across all platforms including PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5. Sadly, players on PS4 and Xbox One won’t be able to participate in the Open Beta, but Ubisoft have promised that the game will support every console.
In-game text from the Open Beta confirmed that “XDefiant is a cross-platform game.”
Players who were part of the closed beta will be the only ones to have access to all Factions without having to play the Ubisoft Connect DedSec challenge to unlock DedSec. If you want to play with this faction in the Open Session, you’ll have to earn 125,000 XP and claim it through your Ubisoft Connect account.
Does XDefiant support cross-progression?
Ubisoft stated that XDefiant will offer cross-progression within PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. In order to do so, gamers will need to link their Ubisoft account to their PSN or Xbox account.
Those who are playing the XDefiant Open Beta should be aware that any progression made won’t be carried into the full game experience; although players who unlock skins from the XDefiant Twitch Drops will be able to use them once the full game releases.
