Is XDefiant coming to PlayStation 4 & Xbox One?

With XDefiant finally launching on current-gen consoles, here’s everything you need to know about whether it’s also coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

XDefiant, Ubisoft’s first-person shooter arena, was finally released on May 21. The game launched on current-gen consoles and PC, but PS4 and Xbox One players are wondering if they’ll be able to join the action later down the line.

Will XDefiant come to PS4 & Xbox One?

Ubisoft confirmed that XDefiant will not be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as they have decided to “focus only on current gen consoles.” According to their X post, this will allow them to “keep a consistent standard of quality” for the game.

Despite XDefiant devs announcing in their Discord that the last-gen version of the game was “being worked on” in December 2023, it looks like plans have changed, and Ubisoft’s FPS won’t arrive on PS4 and Xbox One.

This means that those who haven’t upgraded to the newer hardware will be unable to play the game, at least for the foreseeable future. However, plans could always change again and the team could decide to revisit the last-gen version in the future.
