The Galarian Birds are among the most desired catches in Pokemon Go but trainers have pointed out a serious mistake to avoid when searching for these Legendaries, which makes even the Master Ball useless!

With the Daily Incense in Pokemon Go, players have a chance to encounter the super rare trio of the Galarian Birds that have a ridiculously low catch rate of 0.3% making them the top Pokemon to catch with the Master Ball since it offers a guaranteed catch.

But after a player lost one of the Birds even after using a Master Ball, which they also nearly lost, others came to the rescue by sharing details of a mistake to avoid while hunting for the three Legendaries.

The trainer in question, named ‘cvntpvnter’ on Reddit, shared post that showed a Galarian Articuno fleeing in their Pokemon Go journal.

They wrote: “Judge me all you want, used my master ball on gal articuno this morning. Received error saying Pokemon couldn’t be found. Master ball gone from inventory. I am so disappointed.”

Luckily, the OP didn’t lose the Master Ball, as they added: “Per another commenter, restarted the game as he said he had the same thing happen. Master Ball back in inventory. Whew.”

But what really shocked trainers was the fact that the “Master Ball is a guaranteed catch” and yet, the OP not only lost the Galarian Bird encounter but also had a close shave with the prized Pokemon Go asset.

This prompted a user to point out the mistake. “This happens when you’re using an auto catcher. The auto catcher tried to catch the Pokemon before you tapped on it,” they said. “If you want to catch a G bird you shouldn’t ever use your auto catcher while using daily incense. In my experience, the auto catcher will try to catch Pokemon that are closest to you.”

Adding more to it, another mentioned: “If it’s still on the map and you click it, it won’t let you feed it a berry (will give an error) that’s how you know it’s despawned (either caught or ran away).”

While you can get back your Master Ball or Berries on restarting the game, fans remarked that it was “scary this even happened” since a glitch could lead to the Poke Ball lost forever.

Make sure you don’t use the auto-catcher with the Daily Incense in Pokemon Go and do have a look at Routes and PokeStop Showcases along the way.
