The latest DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is coming up in December. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero: The Indigo Disk’s new gameplay revealed some cool details about the exploration and diversity of the areas available in the game.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 2nd DLC: The Indigo Disk will arrive soon, and it will come with an incredible amount of content to explore. As trainers eagerly prepare for the arrival of this content drop, some have already had a first look at the world that Game Freak has prepared for players to enjoy.

The DLC is part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, which is supposed to be the last huge content drop for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet before Nintendo announces the next iteration of the franchise.

For trainers eager to know more about The Indigo Disk before its release on December 14, 2023, some media outlets had a chance to take a look at the game, and this is what they thought about it.

The Indigo Disk DLC
The Indigo Disk DLC will feature four different areas to explore.

Dexerto had a chance to take a look at how the world looks like, and described it as: “Smaller in size, but wider in scope,” with a special emphasis on “biodiversity,” and exploration.

The area described in this Indigo Disk preview might be akin to the renowned “Safari Zone” from the old Gen iterations of the franchise, or the “Wild Area” from Gen 8 games.

According to Dexerto: “The game’s visuals are on par with the existing title, however, like in The Teal Mask the condensing of different types of foliage and biodiversity benefits the world, often looking more appealing than the occasionally barren plains of Paldea.

Ice Biome Indigo Disk
Each of the four Biomes holds the habitats of specific species.

The game will focus on the exploration of Blueberry Academy, alongside two coming-back characters from The Teal Mask DLC: Kyeran and Carmine. The players will be able to travel across four biomes where they will be able to find several popular Pokemon, including all Starters from prior Generations, alongside new Pokemon like Raging Bolt and Iron Crown.

But chasing down featured species of Pokemon and exploring the secrets of Blueberry Academy is not the only thing trainers can do in this DLC. The top-notch trainers of the Academy are supposed to be quite strong, and the Elite Four, the best of the best, are waiting to be defeated.

In case you haven’t explored the prior DLC: The Teal Mask, here’s all you need to know about the Lore of the land of Kitakami. And in case you are wondering, here are the rewards you get for completing the DLC Pokedex.
