A new Pokemon Go event is coming to the World of Wonders season, so here’s everything you need to know about Rivals Week, including wild spawns, featured shinies, bonuses, and more.

Pokemon Go keeps the World of Wonders season with events almost every day, and now Niantic revealed another one for fans of PvP and Fighting-type Pokemon.

Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon Go Rivals Week, including all featured Pokemon, Raids, bonuses, and a new edition of Go Battle Weekend.

Pokemon Go Rivals Week dates

The Pokemon Go Rivals Week event will run from Saturday, May 4, at 10 AM to Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 8 PM (local time).

Pokemon Go Rivals Week wild encounters

The following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the Pokemon Go Rivals Week:

  • Alolan Sandshrew*
  • Mankey*
  • Poliwag*
  • Machop*
  • Gligar*
  • Ralts*
  • Lickitung*
  • Galarian Stunfisk*

What’s more, additional species will appear in the wild following a special schedule you can check below:

May 4 – 5

  • Zangoose*
  • Seviper*

May 6 – 7

  • Throh*
  • Sawk*

May 8 – 9

  • Heatmor*
  • Durant*

Species marked with (*) can be shiny in Pokemon Go.

Pokemon Go Rivals Week event Raids

The following Pokemon will appear in raids during the Pokemon Go Rivals Week event:

1-Star Raids

3-Star Raids

  • Zangoose* (May 4 at 10 AM to May 6 at 10 AM)
  • Seviper* (May 4 at 10 AM to May 6 at 10 AM)
  • Throh* (May 6 at 10 AM to May 8 at 10 AM)
  • Sawk* (May 6 at 10 AM to May 8 at 10 AM)
  • Heatmor* (May 8 at 10 AM to May 9 at 8 PM)
  • Durant* (May 8 at 10 AM to May 9 at 8 PM)

Pokemon Go Rivals Week Field & Timed Research

New Field Research tasks will be available in Pokemon Go during Rivals Week. Trainers who spin PokeStops will get event-themed Field Research tasks for a chance to encounter Alolan Sandshrew, Mankey, Poliwag, Lickitung, Gligar, Ralts, and Galarian Stunfisk.

Additionally, one free Timed Research will be available for all players, giving them the chance to get XP, Rare Candy, Fast TMs, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Rivals Week event bonuses

The Rivals Week event in Pokemon Go will feature these bonuses:

  • 10x XP from spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
  • 2x Catch Candy.
  • Increased chance of encountering shiny Zangoose, Seviper, Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, and Durant.
  • PokeStop Showcases will be active for the featured Pokemon.

Pokemon Go Rivals Week: Go Battle Weekend bonuses

A new edition of Pokemon Go Battle Weekend will run from Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 12 AM to Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM (local time), and feature the following bonuses:

  • 4x Stardust from PvP win rewards (does not include end-of-set rewards).
  • The maximum number of sets you can play per day will be increased from 5 to 20 — for a total of 100 battles —.
  • Free battle-themed Timed Research will be available. Rewards include the avatar item Hala-Style Sandals.

Additionally, for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), trainers will be able to access another Timed Research for the chance to earn Stardust, one Star Piece, three Rare Candies, and three Rare Candy XL.
