Several players have taken to social networks to talk about their disappointment in the idea behind the Pokemon Go Out to Play event. Several Pokemon Go fans are still encountering issues with the Routes feature, which has them frustrated with the event.

The Out to Play event is in full swing, and Pokemon Go players all around the globe are experiencing difficulties in completing the event tasks.

Now, some Reddit users have been roasting Niantic for their decision to create an event dedicated to Routes, when the feature is not working properly for all players.

Reddit user BluuPurrp has posted an aerial view of their surroundings while playing Pokemon Go, and it showed zero Routes nearby. A massive spree of bans for people using the Wayfarer app to create “irregular” routes and PokeStops occurred recently, and the amount of PokeStops and Routes has decreased significantly.

This issue is affecting players living in remote areas, where PokeStops, Gyms, and Routes are scarce. A concerned player wrote: “I submitted a route around a nice park by my house, 995 M, has been ‘under review’ for about 3 weeks now :/ there arent any other routes around me.”

Another player named “lidun” commented that the only Route in his area just vanished: “There was 1 route in my area. It disappeared 2 weeks ago.” They added, “How am I supposed to participate in the event?”

The OP BluuPurrp concluded with: “That’s just ridiculous.”

More and more instances of the Pokemon Go Out to Play event failing to deliver kept pilling up, and players kept complaining about their low chances to participate: “Level 38 here, closes route is approximately 40km (~25 miles) away from my place.”

Niantic have been rolling out the Routes feature since June 2023, and it is still undergoing issues that are preventing everyone from enjoying it to the fullest.

We will keep you in the loop in the unlikely case that Niantic take measures regarding the lack of Routes for this event. In the meantime, you can check out some pro tips to find Routes in your area, and this full guide on the Out to Play timed research.
