Bronzong in a Pokemon Sword and Shield background

Bronzong is a bulky Pokemon that can take a ton of damage and resist many different moves, so here’s everything you need to know about its weaknesses and resistances to beat it with relative ease.

Any Pokemon player that faced Bronzong, either in a classic title or a more recent entry in the franchise, knows that it can be a tough opponent. Having Bronzong on your team can be very very beneficial since it covers a lot of types, but catching it might require some planning.

We’ll go over everything you need to know about Bronzong in the Pokemon franchise, including weaknesses, resistances, and immunities.

What type is Bronzong in Pokemon?

Bronzong is a dual Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon. This rare typing is shared only with Beldum, Metang, Metagross, and a few Legendary and Mythic Pokemon.

As you can see, this typing is reserved for very strong Pokemon that you shouldn’t mess with unless you come prepared. Luckily, there are a few weaknesses you can take advantage of in battle.

Bronzong can be caught or evolved from Bronzor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

All Bronzong weaknesses in Pokemon

As a dual Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon, Bronzong is weak against Ground, Ghost, Fire, and Dark-type attacks.

Adding Psychic to a Steel-type removes their weakness against Fighting-type moves. However, that adds new weaknesses against Ghost and Dark-type attacks. Since Dark-type Pokemon are immune to Psychic-type damage, they can be a great asset against Bronzong.

Keep in mind, the Levitate Ability makes every Ground-type attack completely useless, so that’s one less weakness to exploit against Bronzong with Levitate. In addition, the Heatproof Ability makes all Fire-type moves less effective, reducing their damage by half.

All Bronzong resistances in Pokemon

The Steel and Psychic-type Pokemon Bronzong can resist damage from Flying, Normal Rock, Steel, Grass, Psychic, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-type attacks. Bronzong is also immune to Poison-type damage.

But that’s not all, because Bronzong might have very important Abilities active if you’re facing it in a game like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Keep an eye out for the aforementioned Heatproof and Levitate abilities.

As we mentioned before, Dark-type Pokemon are the safest bet here. Ghost types can be helpful too but it’s useful to keep in mind that Bronzong can also learn a few Dark and Ghost-type attacks to cover its weaknesses.
