A new Team Go Rocket takeover is set for March 2023 in Pokemon Go and here’s everything you need to know about this special event featuring Shadow Regice and many new Shadow Pokemon.
The current season of Pokemon Go, Rising Heroes, is having a new Team Go Rocket takeover event in March 2023. Giovanni, Team Leaders, and Grunts have new Shadow Pokemon players can rescue during the event alongside new spawns and more.

Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket March 2023 takeover event dates
The new Team Go Rocket takeover will begin Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10 AM and will run until Wednesday, March 29, at 8 PM local time in Pokemon Go.
New Shadow Pokemon in Team Go Rocket takeover
A new Team Go Rocket takeover event in Pokemon Go means new Shadow Pokemon. Players that defeat Team Go Rocket Grunts might be able to rescue these Pokemon:
- Shadow Alolan Grimer
- Shadow Phanpy
- Shadow Treecko
- Shadow Torchic
- Shadow Drifloon
Lucky trainers might even catch them as Shiny Pokemon.
Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket takeover Research
A new Special Research story will be available at the beginning of the Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket takeover event. Players that complete it will receive a Super Rocket Radar to find and face Giovanni with a Shadow Regice.
The Special Research will be available to claim until the end of Season 10: Rising Heroes, on June 1, 2023.
Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket takeover Bonuses
The Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket takeover event will feature the following bonuses:
- Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokémon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.

Pokemon Go Team Go Rocket takeover 12 Km Egg pool
During the Team Go Rocket takeover event, trainers can earn 12 Km Eggs by defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders in Pokemon Go. The following Pokemon will hatch from those Eggs:
- Larvitar
- Absol
- Skorupi
- Sandile
- Scraggy
- Pawniard
- Vullaby
- Deino
- Pancham
- Skrelp
- Salandit
Sandile, Pawniard, Vullaby, Pancham, and Salandit are among the rarest Pokemon in Pokemon Go and can only be obtained by hatching 12 Km Eggs.
