Blizzard Entertainment Overwatch 2 is getting a new DPS Hero called Ventrue, and Blizzard gave fans a first look at their kit at BlizzCon 2023. Here’s everything we know about Venture in Overwatch 2 so far, including their abilities and when they will arrive.
Overwatch 2 Season 8 is around the corner, which is set to bring the brand-new Tank Hero Mauga, along with the usual Battle Pass and buffs and nerfs fans expect. However, at BlizzCon 2023, the devs shared a host of details about what’s to come beyond the next major update.
After plenty of Tank and Support characters arrived in Overwatch 2, Players have been desperate for a new DPS Hero to join the ranks. Luckily, their wishes are being answered as Venture is set to debut in the game later down the line.

Overwatch 2 Venture release season
The devs have confirmed that Venture will arrive in Overwatch 2 Season 10. This sticks with the dev’s usual schedule of releasing a new Hero every two seasons, with Mauga coming in Season 8 and Season 9 focusing on a new map instead.
There is currently no official release date for Overwatch 2 Season 10, but based on past seasons lasting around eight or nine weeks, we expect it to be somewhere around the March 26 mark. We’ll be sure to update this page as soon as an official date has been confirmed.
Who is Venture in Overwatch 2?
The complete backstory for Venture in Overwatch 2 is yet to be revealed, but the devs explained at BlizzCon 2023 that they’re a “swashbuckling archeologist” from Canada. It was also confirmed that Venture is non-binary, making them the first OW2 Hero to use they/them pronouns.

Overwatch 2 Venture abilities
Venture’s main ability in Overwatch 2 allows them to burrow underground to easily avoid enemy attacks. As shown off during BlizzCon 2023, this makes the DPS Hero invulnerable while they’re below the surface and even deals damage as they reemerge, so it has plenty of attacking and defensive benefits.
They will also have a Primary weapon that “shoots a projectile out a set distance” before exploding, even dishing out damage to enemies around corners. The last ability showcased was a dash that hurts any rival players in their path and gives them +50 shield for a short time.
