Overwatch 2 Season 11 brought a ton of new content, but it didn’t introduce a new Hero into the mix. However, Blizzard announced that the next season will welcome Juno, the mysterious Space Ranger that had landed in the Dorado Map.

If you’re wondering what are her abilities and when you’ll get to play with her, here’s everything you need to know, including their release date.

Overwatch 2 Juno release date

Juno is currently scheduled to debut on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, alongside the OW2 Season 12 update. The Season 12 launch was confirmed by Blizzard when they first revealed the Hero, while the date can be found using the current Battle Pass timer seen in-game.

Overwatch 2 will be hosting a playtest event for Juno, which will run from July 19 to July 21, 2024. Players will get to try all her skills for free in all modes available except for Competitive Play.

Juno’s full kit in Overwatch 2

Juno is a Support Hero, the first new character in that category since Illari back in August 2023. Described as a “highly mobile” Support with plenty of “verticle mobility,” her movements resemble Lucio’s but with the ability to hover around the map. Here’s her full kit:

  • Mediblaster (Primary Weapon): Burst fire weapon that heals allies and damages enemies.
  • Pulsar Torpedoes: Homing projectiles that heal allies over time and damage enemies.
  • Glide Boost: Glide horizontally with increased movement speed.
  • Hyper Ring: Deploy a ring that increases the movement speed of allies that pass through it.
  • Orbital Ray (Ultimate): Call down a ray that travels forward, healing allies and increasing their damage.
  • Martian Overboots (Passive): While airborne, press Jump to double jump and hold Jump to hover.

Overwatch 2 Juno announcement

Juno was code-named ‘Space Ranger’ and was first revealed back at Blizz Con 2023 alongside Venture. She is set to be the first playable character in OW2 who comes from Mars, rather than the more grounded locations that most others come from.

Since Season 11 went live, the devs have been teasing her arrival, as a comet could be seen in the sky on many of the maps based on the West Coast of the United States, such as Hollywood and Blizzworld. This unidentified object was Juno’s pod landing on Earth ahead of her arrival.

Alongside the release of the Transformers crossover, this mysterious comet finally landed in Dorado and revealed her space shuttle.

The pod included a few clues about her as the new Support, such as a Morse-coded message and a photograph taped to the inside that hinted she could have been an old colleague of Mei’s.

While you wait to know more about Juno in Overwatch 2, you can catch the Transformers collaboration before it ends.
