With the spooky season nearly upon us, Overwatch 2 players are looking ahead to the annual Halloween Terror event. Here’s everything you need to know about the Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023, including the release date and Diablo crossover.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 has been one of the most jam-packed seasons in the hero shooter sequel to date. After a new Hero and the Invasion PvE missions arrived at launch, fans also received the Hero Mastery mode in the mid-season update.

Now, as the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event rolls on into October, players are looking ahead to what’s next. The devs have confirmed that the regular Halloween event will be making a return to celebrate the spookiest time of year.

Here’s everything we know so far about the Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023.

Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023 start date

The Overwatch 2 Halloween event for 2023 will begin on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. This was confirmed in the first teaser shared by Blizzard for the Season 7 update, which also arrived on the same day.

It hasn’t been confirmed yet if the event will be titled Halloween Terror as it has been every year since 2016. However, fans can rest assured that they’ll still be getting their annual Halloween hit, even if the name is currently unknown.

Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023 skins

The main cosmetic teased for the Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023 is a Diablo 4 crossover skin that sees Moira transform into Lilith. It hasn’t been confirmed exactly how the skin will be unlocked, but fans will be keen to kit the Support Hero like the Queen of Succubi.

The short teaser also showed off what appeared to be a new Wrecking Ball skin inspired by the Diablo series, although the clip didn’t offer a clear look at it. Players can expect a more in-depth look at each skin and how to unlock them closer to the event.

Overwatch Halloween event 2023 game modes

The game mode for the Overwatch 2 Halloween event 2023 hasn’t been confirmed. In the past, we’ve seen PvE modes like Junkerstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride, but the devs haven’t revealed if either will be returning this year.

A new mode could be seen in the Season 7 teaser that featured an overhauled version of Blizzard World overrun by ghostly robots, so it’s likely this will appear in the event. However, we’ll have to wait for details on how it will work and what it’s called.

That was everything we know about Overwatch 2 Halloween Terro 2023 so far. We’ll be sure to update this page with more details as soon as they’re announced.
