Overwatch 2 Illari, new Support character

Overwatch 2’s new character Illari arrived in the Invasion update. For those interested in this Support Hero, here’s how to unlock Illari, as well as her full list of abilities and details on how to use them.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 is now underway, and the update brought some exciting new content and changes to the game, including buffs and nerfs for the Heroes and the new Story Missions, which will give players a break from the chaos of PvP.

Arguably the most exciting addition for Overwatch 2 Season 6 is the new Hero Illari, who is a brand-new Support character with some interesting abilities.

For players who’d like to know more about the new Hero Illari, who arrived in Overwatch 2 Season 6, here’s everything you need to know about how to play her, including all her abilities and weapons explained.

How to unlock Illari in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2’s Illari can be unlocked by purchasing the premium Battle Pass for the Season 6 Invasion update. The new Support Hero will be instantly unlocked after purchasing the Battle Pass, which costs 1000 Overwatch Coins which is equivalent to $9.99 / £8.39.

Alternatively, Illari can be unlocked for free by reaching Tier 45 of the Season 6 Battle Pass. While this means you’ll have to grind to get hold of the new Hero, and you won’t be able to try her out right away, it’s still possible to unlock Illari without buying the premium Battle Pass.

Illari is the brand-new Hero that arrived in Overwatch 2 Season 6, which landed on August 10, 2023. The Overwatch 2: Invasion trailer revealed that she’s a Support hero of Peruvian origin, armed with a giant solar-powered railgun that can do serious damage to enemies and heal her teammates.

How to use Illari in Overwatch 2

Illari is another Support Hero in Overwatch 2, so if you’re using her, make sure you play the healing role and keep your teammates alive from the backline.

As Illari, you’ll want to be near your teammates at all times, constantly supporting them with her Secondary Fire and Healing Pylon. Illari’s Primary Fire is fairly strong, but your priority is to keep teammates alive first and then help them with damage output when need be.

If you find yourself in a sticky situation or would like to push enemies back, either off the map or just away from your team, Outburst is an excellent tool for mobility and pushback.

Lastly, Illari’s Ultimate ability Captive Sun is an aggressive move that can put the enemy team on the back burner, as if you do enough damage to those affected by the move, it will likely put them down. Make sure you use this move at the right time, as you’ll want to connect with more than just one or two enemies to get the most out of the ability.
