Overwatch 2 fans are going crazy after some rumors emerged that Season 6 won’t only add a new character, but might drop Reaper from the roster. Here’s everything about Reaper being removed from Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 Season 6 has promised to bring one of the most important updates that the FPS has gone through up until now. With the new Hero Mastery mode and the addition of PvE Story Missions revolving around Null Sector’s Invasion, Blizzard also confirmed that they’ll be adding a Support Hero.

However, a seemingly official post went viral which stated that they were also going to remove Reaper, one of its oldest DPS.

Reaper is an iconic character from the Overwatch franchise, going as far back as one of the player classes from the canceled Project Titan, the first version of what came to be the famous Blizzard’s DPS. He was later introduced as one of the first 21 heroes included in the game’s release in May, 2016.

Blizzard don’t remove heroes from the roster often, although they have done so temporarily with classics like Bastion and Torbjorn. According to a viral video from TikTok, the developers meant to remove Reaper for “development and balance considerations.”

Is Blizzard removing Reaper from Overwatch 2?

No, Blizzard have never made any mention about removing Reaper from Overwatch 2. This rumor simply went viral after a TikTok account named @knockknockow showed a fake post from Blizzard’s Official forums. However, there’s no official information about Reaper’s removal from Overwatch 2’s roster and the ‘official’ post hasn’t been seen since it went viral as a video.

While some quickly deemed the information as just a hoax by checking official sources, a vast majority of fans were convinced that this was possible because of the huge changes that Overwatch 2 Season 6 will bring to the game.
