Hogwarts Legacy player flying on a broom

Hogwarts Legacy lets you become a skillful wizard or a witch and unsurprisingly, you can fly around the map using a broom. If you’re yet to explore this feature, here’s everything to know about getting a broom in Hogwarts Legacy and unlocking flight.

Hogwarts Legacy is all about stepping into the magical wizarding world we first saw in the Harry Potter books and defeating the villains who look forward to wrongfully capturing the Ancient Magic. This journey begins when you’re assigned a house and eventually, you’ll be able to attend magical classes, learn powerful spells, explore the massive open world, and a lot more.

Although you can fast-travel in Hogwarts Legacy through Floo Flames, nothing beats the feeling of flying around the castle and the beautiful open world on a broom. Having said that, you’ll have to progress in the story and complete certain missions to unlock these features.

On that note, here’s how you can unlock flying in Hogwarts Legacy and get hold of a broom.

How to unlock flying in Hogwarts Legacy

In order to unlock the ability to fly in Hogwarts Legacy, players have to complete the ‘Flying Class’ quest, which becomes available once the main story quest ‘Jackdraw’s Rest’ has been completed.

Much as the name suggests, Flying Class witnesses students as they receive their first-ever broom flying lesson, introducing them to the essential controls and how to navigate the world quickly.

Once you’ve finished the class and the quest is complete, the flying mechanic becomes fully unlocked and players are free to soar through the skies to get from one point to another.

The only way to get your own broom in Hogwarts Legacy is to buy one from Spintwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade, a store that only opens its doors once the Flying Class quest has been completed.

Here, simply speak to the shopkeeper, Albie Weekes, who will gladly sell you a broom for 600 Galleons. There’s a whole range of shapes and colors to choose from, so be sure to pick up your favorite.

Once you own a broom, you can return to Spintwitches Sporting Needs at any time to upgrade its stats, as long as you have some more cash to spare.
