Honkai Star Rail has many interesting characters players can discover through its updates, and many of them leak way ahead of time. Fans have been speculating about Dr. Ratio for months before HoYoverse officially revealed the character on social media, and he’s coming to the game very soon and for free!

Who is Dr. Ratio in Honkai Star Rail?
According to Honkai Star Rail lore, Dr. Ratio is a member of the Intelligentsia Guild. This faction is similar to the Genius Society, but the Intelligentsia Guild believes that intellect and creativity are not confined to geniuses, and their doors are open to all. Players already met the Intelligentsia Guild while exploring the Xianzhou Luofu, and also met Dr. Ratio in the Trailblaze Continuance added in the 1.6 update.
Dr. Ratio is a five-star Imaginary element character in The Path of The Hunt. This means he focuses on dealing massive damage to single-enemy targets. Players are eager to meet Dr. Ratio since there aren’t many Imaginary characters in the game yet.
Dr. Ratio Honkai Star Rail release date
Dr. Ratio will debut in Honkai Star Rail with the second phase of the version 1.6 update, meaning he’ll debut on January 17, 2024.
What’s more, HoYoverse confirmed players can get Dr. Ratio for free once he arrives in the game. This is a very special occasion, so you shouldn’t miss out. Once Dr. Ratio debuts in the game, you can claim the five-star character for free by completing the Trailblaze Mission titled “The Blue – A Moment of Peace” and unlocking the Mailbox function before version 2.1 ends sometime in 2024.
This is something most Honkai Star Rail players have done already, so they can expect Dr. Ratio to show up in their mailbox right away.
All Honkai Star Rail Dr. Ratio leaked abilities
Honkai Star Rail leakers have been sharing Dr. Ratio’s kit for months now, but they showed him as a four-star character in the Path of The Erudition. This means his abilities will probably change once he’s officially released in the game, so take the following list of abilities with a grain of salt:
- Basic ATK: Deals Imaginary DMG to a single enemy.
- Skill: Trigger Talent effect one time towards single enemy target. Then, deals Imaginary DMG to said target.
- Ultimate: Deals Imaginary DMG and inflicts ‘The Fool’ mark on a single enemy target for several turns. Using Skill against enemy targets with ‘The Fool’ mark increases the number of times his Talent effect can be triggered. Once the turn of enemy targets with ‘The Fool’ mark ends, Dr. Ratio immediately receives an extra turn.
- Talent: When using Skill, randomly gain one of the five additional effects. When attacking, triggers follow-up attack of Imaginary DMG. This can be triggered once per turn. Dr. Ratio can receive one of the following buffs: ATK buff, Crit Rate buff, Crit DMG buff, and SPD buff, for several turns. Each buff can only stack up to three times.
- Technique: Dr. Ratio creates a special field taunting nearby enemies, lasting for several seconds. If Dr. Ratio enters combat with enemies inside the field, there is a chance for all enemy targets’ SPD to decrease for a couple of turns.
While Dr. Ratio’s kit might not be definitive, it seems like he’ll need a support character to shine. Characters in the Path of The Nihility specialize in applying debuffs to enemies, making them great companions for this damage-dealer. We’ll update this section once we know more about Dr. Ratio’s abilities.

Just days before Dr. Ratio’s debut in Honkai Star Rail, devs shared his official trailer to showcase his abilities and voice acting in charge of Jordan Paul Haro in the English version.
That’s everything we know about Dr. Ratio so far. Since he’s a five-star character, he’s expected to debut alongside his signature Light Cone.
