Who is Lingyang in Wuthering Waves?

Lingyang in Wuthering Waves is described as “a sincere, compassionate foreign visitor of the human community.” According to the game’s lore, Lingyang joined the Liondance Troupe in Jinzhou by chance, and players will be able to use his unique dance moves to defeat all kinds of enemies.

He’s also described as “the last Suan’ni,” which in Chinese mythology refers to a lion-like creature that’s the fifth son among the “Nine Sons of the Dragon.”

Does Lingyang have a release date in Wuthering Waves?

Lingyang is a standard banner unit in Wuthering Waves, which means he’ll be released on May 22, 2024.

Here are Lingyang’s abilities in Wuthering Waves:

  • Majestic Fists (Basic Attack) – Perform up to 5 attacks, causing Glacio damage. After casting the Resonance Skill Swift Punches, the 5th attack of the Basic Attack is replaced by Feral Roars.
    • Heavy Attack – Lingyang consumes Stamina to attack the targe and deal Glacio DMG.
    • Mid-air Attack – Lingyang consumes Stamina to perform a Mid-air Plunging Attack and deals Glacio DMG.
    • Dodge Counter – Use Basic Attack after a successful Dodge to attack the target and deal Glacio DMG.
  • Ancient Arts (Resonance Skill) – Attack the target, causing Glacio damage. When the 3rd, 4th, 5th Basic Attacks hit the target, the Resonance Skill Ancient Arts is replaced by the Resonance Skill Swift Punches.
  • Strive: Lion’s Vigor (Resonance Liberation) – Attack the target, causing Glacio damage, and receive the blessing of Lion’s Vigor, lasting for 14 seconds. During the duration of Lion’s Vigor, Lingyang’s own Glacio damage bonus is increased by 50%. During the duration of Lion’s Vigor, the duration of the Forte Circuit’s Striding Lion state will be extended to 10 seconds.
  • Lion Awakens (Intro Skill) – Lingyang enters the battlefield dealing Glacio DMG.
  • Frosty Marks (Outro Skill) – Release a shock wave centered on the skill target, dealing Glacio DMG to targets within the range.
  • Lion’s Pride (Inherent Skill) – Damage of the Intro Skill Lion Awakens is increased by 50%.
  • Unification of Spirits (Forte Circuit)
    • Heavy Attack: Glorious Plunge – When Lion’s Spirit is full, Heavy Attack turns into Glorious Plunge and deals more Glacio DMG.
    • Mid-air Attack: Tail Strike – When Lion’s Spirit is not full, using Basic Attack after Heavy Attack performs Tail Strike, dealing Glacio DMG.
    • Striding Lion – After casting Heavy Attack Glorious Plunge, enter Striding Lion state. In this state, attacks can be launched in mid-air. If Lingyang is on the ground, you can use Heavy Attack Glorious Plunge to get back in the air. In the Lion’s Vigor state, the consumption speed of Lion’s Spirit is reduced by 50%, extending Striding Lion state by up to 10 seconds. Lingyang’s Basic Attack is replaced with Basic Attack and Resonance Skill are replaced with more powerful attacks.

Lingyang can hold up to 100 Lion’s Spirit in Wuthering Waves. What’s more, casting Resonance Skill Furious Punches, Lion Awakens, or Lion’s Vigor restores Lion’s Spirit.
